Sydney Philharmonia Choirs and Easter Saturday Digital Concert Stream Online This Weekend

Sydney Philharmonia Choirs couldn't let the Easter weekend pass without a moment to share the glory and beauty of Bach's St John Passion. The Choirs had originally intended to perform this piece at Sydney Town Hall on Easter Saturday, but as the Covid-19 pandemic forced us all into isolation, they started working towards a plan to record a section for digital release this weekend instead.

The Chicago area's 47th annual Bach Week Festival has announced details of its 2020 season of concerts in Chicago and Evanston, Illinois, May 1 to May 30, 2020, including the Baroque music festival's first mainstage period-instrument program and its first concert in Chicago's Ravenswood neighborhood, among other events.

Founding Artistic and Executive Directors Dwight Rhoden and Desmond Richardson founded Complexions Contemporary Ballet in 1994. Richardson enjoyed a stellar performing career, having danced with numerous prestigious dance companies, including American Ballet Theatre where he was the first African American principal dancer, as well as Broadway shows. Rhoden, who is the principal choreographer of Complexions, has danced with contemporary and jazz companies and has become a sought-after choreographer.

Bach In Baltimore Presents Works By Joseph Haydn

Usually known for presenting the work of Bach and his contemporaries, Bach in Baltimore is thrilled to announce that Maestro T. Herbert Dimmock will lead the Bach in Baltimore Choir, Orchestra, and honored guests in a concert homage to the Classical composer Joseph Haydn. The performance set for March 1 at 4pm, at the Towson United Methodist Church, located at 501 Hampton Lane in Towson, will feature celebrated works: Heiligmesse, the Missa Sancti Bernardi von Offida in B-flat major and Symphony No. 94 in G major.

Boston Baroque Performs Vivaldi's The Four Seasons This March

Boston Baroque returns to Vivaldi's masterworks, The Four Seasons and Gloria in D, along with Monteverdi's Beatus Vir this March, featuring Concertmaster Christina Day Martinson and conducted by Music Director Martin Pearlman. Two performances of this program will take place at NEC's Jordan Halla?"the first, on Friday, March 27 at 8pm, and the second on Sunday, March 29 at 3pm. Pre-concert speaker Laury Gutiérrez, founding director of La Donna Musicale, will give a talk before both performances at 7pm and 2pm.

2020 Youth Music Culture Guangdong (YMCG) Concludes, To Return In 2021

On January 18, the fourth Youth Music Culture Guangdong presented a unique Bach Marathon Concert at the Xinghai Concert Hall performed by all the young musicians of the 2020 YMCG Orchestra, lead by YMCG Artistic Director Yo-Yo Ma, Music Director Michael Stern and the YMCG faculty. The concert displayed its four core elements surrounding its moniker youth, music, culture, and Guangdong including open-mindedness, tolerance, communication, and development.

2018 Honens Prize Laureate Nicolas Namoradze gives his Konzerthaus Berlin debut in the Kleiner Saal on Sunday, January 26 at 8:00 PM followed by his London recital debut at Wigmore Hall on Sunday, February 16 at 7:30 PM. Both programs include Namoradze's own set of Etudes - receiving their United Kingdom premiere at Wigmore Hall - which American composer John Corigliano describes as 'some of the most innovative and dynamic works of this century.'
