Miscast 2015 honored two bold and fearless women: Emmy® & Golden Globe® nominated stage and screen actress Sarah Paulson and Tony® Award-winning producer Fran Weissler. Miss P, the Beagle the who was named Best in Show earlier this week at the 2015 Westminster Best in Show, continues her NYC tour, making her Broadway debut last night with a walk-on role in Broadway's Kinky Boots. BroadwayWorld was there for her big night and you can check out photos below!

The Tony Award-winning musical Kinky Boots is still bringing audiences to their feet nightly at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street). The show has enlisted the help of Broadway's favorite pint-sized critic, Iain Armitage, to spread the message of the musical to kids everywhere. In these highlights, Marsh belts out the Spice Girls, 'THE LAST FIVE YEARS in Five Minutes' with Adam Kaplan, a roof-shaking moment from BROOKLYN, 'Kids Singing Inappropriate $h!t' with Mia Sinclair Jenness, '$h!t I Didn't Book' from LEGALLY BLONDE, 'Gender Confused Duets' with Cortney Wolfson and Joey Taranto, and an all-star finale from PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT.

Kyle Taylor Parker, who has been starring as 'Lola' in the National Tour of the Tony Award-winning musical Kinky Boots, steps into the role on Broadway at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street) for three months, taking over for Tony Award-winner Billy Porter. Parker was originally slated to begin performances tonight, January 27, but due to Winter Storm Juno, the actor will make his debut on Thursday, January 29, instead. Last week I spoke with KINKY BOOTS' Ellyn Marie Marsh about the encore performance of her solo show debut 'Inappropriate' at 54 Below. In that article we talked about how the show came to be, the songs in the show, the stories in the show, you know, the normal stuff. However, in this article, things are about to get real.

Producers Daryl Roth and Hal Luftig announced today that Kyle Taylor Parker, who is currently earning raves as 'Lola' in the National Tour of the Tony Award®-winning musical Kinky Boots, will step into the role on Broadway at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street) for three months, taking over for Tony® Award-winner Billy Porter from January 27 – April 26, 2015. Porter will return toKinky Boots on April 28, 2015, and has extended his contract through January 2016.

The Broadway at Birdland concert series presented Alysha Umphress, currently starring as "Hildy" in the Broadway revival of On The Town, and Tony-nominated songwriter Jeff Blumenkrantz, on Monday, January 5 at 7pm. The duo celebrated the release of their new CD, "I've Been Played," which features Jeff's swinging songs and arrangements performed as only Alysha can! "I've Been Played" is on the Yellow Sound Label, and available now for pre-order on Amazon.com.

54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents Ellyn Marie Marsh in INAPPROPRIATE on January 3rd, 2015 at 11:30 p.m. In INAPPROPRIATE, Ellyn shares her sharp comedic wit and high belting, offering an evening of popular songs, musical theater songs, and of course, medleys - accompanied by stories of performing on Broadway and persuading her daughter to be a doctor.

There was a happening on West 44th Street! For a week, Chita Rivera brought her joyful, razzle-dazzling nightclub act to Birdland, which she calls her favorite room in the city. “These walls are filled with the best music! Playing Birdland just makes me feel cool,” she proclaimed. As if her iconic Broadway career wasn't cool enough, “Chita's Back” was a concert for the history books – with the ever-youthful legend in fine fettle; singing, dancing and telling some of the best insider stories any theater-lover could hope for. Material from Bye Bye Birdie, Chicago, Kiss of the Spider Woman, West Side Story and The Visitwere included, as well as a James Taylor duet with daughter, Lisa Mordente. The swinging was band led by guitarist/percussionist Michael Croiter, with Michael Patrick Walker on piano, Jim Donica on bass, and Dan Willis on saxophone.

A great, big Broadway season is on its way, with fourteen productions already slated to open in the next few months. With several weeks until the craziness begins, there is still plenty of time to catch up on what's been going on at Broadway's already occupied theaters . Broadway Bares: Rock Hard!, a luscious, modern-day mix tape of sensual sights and sounds featuring 170 of New York's sexiest dancers, celebrated its move to a new home on June 22 by raising $1,386,105 to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. The opening number found Matthew Saldivar and Joey Taranto as dads escorting their preteen daughters to a One Direction concert. Longing for the rock concerts of their youth, the pair stepped into a dream world of hard rockers with ripped abs, voluptuous divas and randy roadies. The opening was written by Matthew Sklar and Amanda Green. Director Nick Kenkel, Paula Caselton and Sidney Erik Wright choreographed the number. Check out the full number below!
