The "DRessed as A Girl" episode of The Ensemblist features interviews with three male actors who have played roles on Broadway outside their own gender identity: one a woman, one a drag queen, and one a transwoman.

Blake Hammond (Hairspray, Living On Love) shares the difference between playing Edna Turnblad in Hairspray and a drag queen in La Cage aux Folles, Gregory Haney discusses the pressures of playing Broadway's first teenage transgendered woman in Bring It On, and Joey Taranto details the preparation behind becoming one of Kinky Boots' angels eight shows a week.
