Following a sold-out engagement last October, Joey Arias returns to Feinstein's at the Nikko for one performance only with an intimate show for piano and voice featuring his music director and pianist Matt Ray on Friday, October 10 at 8 p.m. Ray has served as music director for Arias' sold out residencies at Joe's Pub and resumes this role on Arias' forthcoming Billie Holiday Centennial Concerts in the Spring of 2015. The piano and voice format allows for a high degree of improvisation, allowing these peerless musicians an opportunity to explore the depths of their musical communion. The repertoire includes original songs, unexpected covers and, of course, Arias' signature 'channeling' of Billie Holiday. Due to popular demand, The Public Theater has extended Bridget Everett's critically acclaimed ROCK BOTTOM at Joe's Pub to Thursday, October 16. Created by Bridget Everett, Marc Shaiman, Scott Wittman, Adam 'Ad-Rock' Horovitz, and Matt Ray, and directed by Scott Wittman, this shockingly funny and moving new show began performances on September 9 and was originally slated to close on October 11. ROCK BOTTOM was originally commissioned as part of the Joe's Pub 2013 New York Voices series.

After its sold-out, world-premiere performance at Joe's Pub this past spring, Kenyon Phillips's autobiographical 90-minute rock opera, The Life + Death of Kenyon Phillips, will return to Joe's Pub (425 Lafayette St., New York, NY 10003) on Friday, October 24th, 2014, at 7:00PM.

On February 12, 1915, the Abrons Arts Center's Henry Street Settlement Playhouse opened its doors on the Lower East Side. Since that day, it has remained a vital cultural resource, providing audiences with artistically bold work while offering artists opportunities to dynamically grow.

The director/designer and master puppeteer Basil Twist, whose numerous works for the stage - including SYMPHONIE FANTASTIQUE, PETRUSHKA, DOGUGAESHI and ARIAS WITH A TWIST -- have consistently re-defined our understanding of traditional puppetry, will celebrate the New York debut of his biggest, most ambitious creation to date when Lincoln Center presents THE RITE OF SPRING during its fifth season of WHITE LIGHT FESTIVAL for five performances only Wednesday, October 15-18 at the Rose Theatre in Frederick Rose Hall, located in the Time-Warner Center (10 Columbus Circle) at Broadway and 60th Street.

Curated by award-winning, New York-based cabaret star Kim Smith, the Voicebox program dallies between the erotic, the darkly comic, the joyous and the emotionally devastating, imbuing Hobart with the titillating atmosphere, originality and glamour of the clubs and theatres of New York City. Step inside Hobart City Hall, transformed for the festival into a den of red velvet, dirty cocktails and musical debauchery for Voicebox 2014.

From today, June 25 to August 1, The Kitchen will present The Rehearsal, a group exhibition in which Courtesy the Artists, Discoteca Flaming Star and Georgia Sagri revisit an unreleased film by blacklisted, American film maker Jules Dassin. Filmed 40 years ago in the building that is now The Kitchen, Dassin's film, also tilted The Rehearsal, is a cinematic indictment of the Greek military junta (1967-74) and features Dassin, his wife, Greek actress Melina Mercouri, along with Laurence Olivier, Olympia Dukakis, Arthur Miller and Lillian Hellman, among others. For this exhibition, the artists will engage the themes, resonances and Brechtian structures of Dassin's work placing them in conversation with recent narratives of collective action for autonomy on the global stage.

Neil Patrick Harris officially returned to Broadway last night at the Belasco Theatre, in the new production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, the musical with book by John Cameron Mitchell and music and lyrics by Stephen Trask, directed byMichael Mayer and featuring Lena Hall.
