This week, the second show of its season begins performances in the downstairs Hays Theatre June 16–July 9: the premiere of Squirrel Screams and Other Dating Sounds starring Kaitlyn Black from TV’s Heart of Dixie and Josephine Rose Roberts (Rock of Ages on Broadway).

Diana has been on my mind for many years. In fact, I actually wrote about it in quite a few of my earlier articles, constantly stating that it would be the first show that I wanted to see once Broadway reopened. If only I knew just how much of an impact this show would have on my life.

Just recently, Jennifer Simard celebrated receiving a coveted portrait at Sardi's. During the unveiling, Simard was surrounded by her friends, including her castmates from Company.

On Monday, June 6 at 5 p.m., TDF will host its annual Wendy Wasserstein Project ceremony at The Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College (524 West 59th Street).

Little Theatre of Manchester, one of Connecticut's oldest community theatres still in operation, announced today their upcoming production of Joe DiPeitro's family comedy Over the River and Through the Woods running May 27th through June 12th at Cheney Hall, 177 Hartford Road in Manchester, CT.

Laguna Playhouse will present one of the longest running Off-Broadway productions of all time, I LOVE YOU, YOU’RE PERFECT, NOW CHANGE!, book and lyrics by Joe DiPietro, music by Jimmy Roberts, musical direction by  Ricky Pope, directed & choreographed by Paula Hammons Sloan.

The newest production in SDSU’s New Musical Initiative, Postcard American Town will have its world premiere from April 29 – May 5, 2022. Written by Lynne Shankel and Crystal Skillman, this world premiere production will be directed by Professor Stephen Brotebeck, and music directed by Professor Robert Meffe from the School of Theatre, Television, and Film. 

Act II Playhouse announces their latest stage musical, “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change,” with book and lyrics by Joe DiPietro and music by Jimmy Roberts. The show runs May 3 through June 5. 

Over the River and Through the Woods is a warm-hearted, boisterously funny, and touching story about intergenerational relationships, deep familial love, and the inevitable little heartbreaks that occur as time passes and children grow. Joe DiPietro's intimate family comedy featuring a mature cast is a beloved staple of theaters across the US.

Cortland Repertory Theatre has announced their 2022 5-show summer season to be held at the Little York Pavilion in Preble, NY, as a celebration of their 50th Anniversary. The season will run from June 8 – August 20 and will contain three musicals and two plays.

Porchlight Music Theatre has announced its 28th season that includes the 2022 – 2023 Mainstage, Porchlight Revisits and New Faces Sing Broadway series. Mainstage and Porchlight Revisits performances take place at The Ruth Page Center for the Arts, 1016 N. Dearborn Street.

The greater Binghamton area's only professional, non-profit Equity theatre, Chenango River Theatre, under the direction of new Producing Artistic Director Zach Curtis will open their 2022 season on June 3.
