BroadwayWorld has been checking in with Tony Award nominees all morning! We caught up with the nominated cast of The Band's Visit on Broadway to get their first reactions at being up for Tony Awards this season.

It was revealed on Twitter tonight that the cast of The Bands Visit will stop by the TODAY show this week for a special performance from the show and kicking off Broadway Week on the morning show, beginning Tuesday, May 1.

Producer Scott Rudin announced today a special Midnight Performance for Edward Albee's Three Tall Women on Thursday, May 17 at the Golden Theatre (252 West 45th Street), which will be a one-night-only benefit for The Actors Fund. The first Broadway production of Edward Albee's Pulitzer Prize-winning masterpiece stars two-time Academy Award®-winner Glenda Jackson, Tony Award® winner, three-time Emmy Award® winner, and 2018 Academy Award® nominee Laurie Metcalf, and Tony Award® nominee Alison Pill, and is directed by two-time Tony Award® winner Joe Mantello. Tickets will be available at actorsfund.org.

Writers Theatre, under the leadership of Artistic Director Michael Halberstam and Executive Director Kathryn M. Lipuma, presents Buried Child, written by Sam Shepard and directed by WT Resident Director Kimberly Senior. Buried Child runs May 9 - June 17, 2018 in the Alexandra C. and John D. Nichols Theatre at 325 Tudor Court, Glencoe. The Press Opening is Wednesday, May 16 at 7:30 p.m.

One of the great things about DC theatre is that we have the opportunities to experience theater from all over the world, including from some of the most artistically renowned companies.  Take for example the Druid Theatre Company in Galway, Ireland.  Today's subject Garry Hynes is living her theatre life as Artistic Director of that esteemed company.  The Druid's production of Waiting for Godot is embarking on its year-long tour with a run at Shakespeare Theatre Company through May 20.

Chicago Shakespeare Theater welcomes back Ireland's Druid theatre company-"one of the world's greatest acting ensembles" (The Guardian)-with its critically acclaimed production of Samuel Beckett's masterpiece, Waiting for Godot. Staged by Tony Award-winning director Garry Hynes, the production will be presented for a limited engagement in the Courtyard Theater as part of WorldStage at Chicago Shakespeare, May 23-June 3, 2018.

San Francisco Playhouse (Artistic Director Bill English; Producing Director Susi Damilano) announced casting for the fifth show of its 2017-18 Mainstage Season-the world premiere of An Entomologist's Love Story, written by Melissa Ross. Giovanna Sardelli will direct.

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley presents Bay Area audiences with the California Premiere of FINKS, a comic drama based on the true story of comedian/actor Jack Gilford directed by TheatreWorks Director of New Works Giovanna Sardelli.

Shattered Globe Theatre is pleased to conclude its 2017-18 Season with the Chicago premiere of Will Snider's fast-paced gritty drama HOW TO USE A KNIFE, directed by SGT Producing Artistic Director Sandy Shinner*, playing April 26 - June 9, 2018 at SGT's resident home Theater Wit, 1229 W. Producers announced today Obie Award Winner Dariush Kashani (Oslo) will join the best reviewed Broadway show of the season, THE BAND'S VISIT, as 'Tewfiq' on Thursday, March 1, 2018.

Previews begin tomorrow, Tuesday, February 27, 2018, for Edward Albee's Three Tall Women. Ghostlight Records will celebrate the release of the original Broadway cast recording of THE BAND'S VISIT, the best reviewed musical of the season, with an exclusive in-store performance and fan photo-op at Barnes & Noble on the album's release date, Friday, February 23 at 4:00 PM. Tony Shalhoub, Katrina Lenk and the cast - with the show's composer and lyricist David Yazbek joining as special guest - will commemorate the release of the album on CD.

Longtime performer and beloved Actors' Equity Association Councilor Judith Rice (known throughout AEA, New York City and Broadway as simply "Judy") was named on January 10th, 2018 as the new President of the Actors' Equity Foundation.

Cherry Lane Theatre has announced casting for the first production of the Obie award-winning MENTOR PROJECT now in its 20th season. Kate Cortesi's A PATRON OF THE ARTS, is being presented at Cherry Lane (38 Commerce St.) from March 1- 10, 2018, it has been announced by Seri Lawrence and Janio Marrero, Cherry Lane's Co-Artistic Directors.  Angelina Fiordellisi is Cherry Lane's Founding Artistic Director. Ms. Cortesi is mentored by Guggenheim, a Whiting, an Alpert, PEN/Laura Pels award winner Anne Washburn.

Red Bull Theater (Jesse Berger, Founding Artistic Director Jim Bredeson, Managing Director) today announced that their eighth annual festival of 10-minute plays of heightened language and classic themes will feature two brand new commissions from Tina Howe and Doug Wright, alongside 6 brand new plays chosen from hundreds of submissions from playwrights across the country. Selected plays will receive a staged reading performance in the festival on Monday July 16th (7:30 PM), directed by Pamela Berlin and Evan Yionoulis, performed by a company of some of New York's finest actors.
