Tonight, December 2nd, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater will kick off a five-week holiday season with a star-studded gala benefit including a performance at New York City Center and party at the New York Hilton Midtown Grand Ballroom. This year's gala will honor BNY Mellon for its major support of The Ailey Organization since 2007 and Agnes & Gerald Hassell will accept on the institution's behalf. Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater performances inspire audiences around the world, and New Yorkers have a unique opportunity to join in the dance this holiday season. The Ailey Extension and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater announce the return of “Ticket to Dance” in conjunction with Ailey's New York City Center season (December 2 - January 3). “Ticket to Dance” welcomes audience members to try their first Ailey Extension class FREE with a performance ticket stub (returning students receive a free class with the purchase of a 10-class card).

Four outstanding works by Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, one of the world's leading modern dance companies, will come to the big screen tonight, October 22 at 7:00 pm (local time) as the second installment of Lincoln Center at the Movies: Great American Dance.

The rich diversity of contemporary dance will be on view for four nights, Thursday, December 3 through Sunday, December 6 at this year's Annual Performance Festival of the American Dance Guild at The Ailey Citigroup Theater, Joan Weill Center for Dance. Thirty-five artists/companies will present their work, with three living legends of modern dance - Liz Lerman, founder of the Dance Exchange, Doug Varone, Artistic Director of Doug Varone Dance Company and Alice Teirstein, founder of Young Dancemakers - receiving ADG's 2015 honors and tributes.

Lincoln Center at the Movies, the new cinema series recently announced by Lincoln Center in partnership with Fathom Events, will open in fall 2015 with Great American Dance presenting performances by four of America's leading companies: Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Ballet Hispanico, New York City Ballet, and San Francisco Ballet. Each event will be shown in select cinemas nationwide at nearly 400 locations.

Led by Artistic Director Robert Battle, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater's 2015 Lincoln Center engagement kicked off with a star-studded Ailey Spirit Gala on Wednesday, June 10th. The one-night-only benefit performance and party honoring the Ford Foundation and sponsored by FedEx featured supermodel and actor Tyson Beckford as Honorary Chair. Gala Co-Chairs were Gina F. Adams, Ricki Lander, Almaz & Marc S. Strachan, Pamela Zilly & John Schaefer and Daria L. & Eric J. Wallach, and the Vice Chairs were Michele & Timothy Barakett, Dr. N. Anthony & Robyn Coles, and Leslie & Tom Maheras. The evening helped raise over $1 million for Ailey's extensive educational programs for young people, including AileyCamp and scholarships to The Ailey School.

New York – April 15, 2015 – Alvin Ailey Dance Foundation has been selected for the New York-based Wallace Foundation's Building Audiences for Sustainability effort – a new, six-year, $52-million initiative aimed at developing practical insights into how exemplary performing arts organizations can successfully expand their audiences, the foundation announced today. The $710,000 grant is earmarked for preliminary audience research and the first cycle of work will explore how to eliminate barriers of engagement for millennials and implement new strategies to involve and retain their participation for years to come.

Carnegie Hall announced today that Sanford I. Weill will receive the Carnegie Hall Medal of Excellence at a gala benefit on Thursday, May 28 at 6:30 p.m. at Carnegie Hall's Weill Terrace and Terrace Room.

Weill Hall and the Green Music Center (GMC) at Sonoma State University (SSU) announced its 2015–16 season today, with concerts in Weill Hall, Schroeder Hall, and through the summer at Weill Hall + Lawn. The season comprises the MasterCard Performance Series — 39 concerts on the stage of the 1,400-seat Weill Hall, featuring a roster of internationally renowned stars from the genres of classical music, 2 world music, jazz and pop — leading off with a Gala Opening Night performance by piano superstar Lang Lang; the Summer 2015 MasterCard Performance Series, which takes place with seating both indoors in Weill Hall and on the spacious Weill Lawn featuring an array of contemporary music; and 24 concerts in 240- seat Schroeder Hall, including the popular Sundays At Schroeder series plus three new offerings — a fiveday, nine-concert GMC ChamberFest 2015, led by Jeffrey Kahane, a new Saturday Cabaret four-concert series, and four performances with Musicians from Valley of the Moon Music Festival, featuring early music performed on period instruments by leading Bay Area musicians.
