Sixty years ago this month, West Side Story opened on Broadway to become one of the best-loved musicals of all time. To celebrate this historic event, Dancers Over 40 will assemble a spectacular once-in-a-lifetime panel of original cast members nearly to the day of their 1957 debut.

Please join Dance/NYC for a series of conversations about integrated and disability dance artistry, dance made and performed by and with disabled dancers. Organized around New York City metropolitan area performance activity at the nexus of disability and dance, the series features leading artists working at that nexus in conversation with their presenters. The goals of the series are to drive awareness and interest in dance made by and with disabled artists, capture and share lessons learned by featured artists, and generate dialogue and partnerships among attendees. Featured artists are grantees of Dance/NYC's Disability. Dance. Artistry. Fund, created to advance dance making by and with disabled artists.

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, New York City Center's Principal Dance Company, returns to the theater's stage from November 29th - December 31st, 2017. Artistic Director Robert Battle leads Ailey's 32 extraordinary dancers during this annual five-week engagement, which has become a joyous holiday tradition.

This summer, Ailey Extension is launching new weekly classes and one-time-only workshops for adults and even for the entire family. From dance fitness to bellydance to yoga classes, there's something for students of all levels and backgrounds. Led by New York City's best choreographers and teachers, these classes are held at The Joan Weill Center for Dance - home of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.

???????Ailey Extension celebrates NYC Dance Week, a citywide festival from June 15-24, by offering 30 free dance and fitness classes for new students*. Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater announces Moonlight x Ailey, a new dance film short choreographed by Artistic Director Robert Battle in a unique collaboration with Academy Award-winning composer Nicholas Britell. Inspired by the critically-acclaimed drama Moonlight, Best Picture winner at the 74th Annual Golden Globe® Awards and nominated for eight Oscars® at next week's Academy Awards®, the blue-lit movements are danced by Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater's Jamar Roberts, and The Ailey School students Christopher Taylor and Jeremy T. Villas. Robert Battle, the film's director Barry Jenkins, and playwright Tarell Alvin McCraney are from Miami's Liberty City neighborhood - the setting for Moonlight.

Making its annual Kennedy Center appearance, the famed Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater returns to the Opera House stage with seven performances, February 7-12. Led by Artistic Director Robert Battle, the Company's performances include a company premiere, four D.C. debuts, two new productions, and a total of 11 works by a range of distinct choreographers.
