Public Theater Announces Complete Casting for Native Theater Festival

The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Andrew D. Hamingson) announced casting today for the second year of the Native Theater Festival, a four day festival dedicated to presenting extraordinary theatrical work by Native theater artists from the U.S. and Canada.

Sondheim, Lucas and Durang To Head Public's 08-09 Season

The Public Theater's Artistic Director Oskar Eustis and Executive Director Mara Manus announced today that the 2008-2009 Season will feature premieres by Mike Daisey, Christopher Durang, John Guare, Danny Hoch, Craig Lucas, Stephen Sondheim, and Tracey Scott Wilson.

Interart Theatre Presents 'Bridge Over Land' Through 5/10

The Interart Theatre Development Series will present BRIDGE OVER LAND, a play by Gilbert Girion, directed by the author. Performances will be at the Interart Theatre Annex, 500 W 52nd Street. Performances will begin on Friday, April 18th, continuing through Saturday, May 10th.

Photo Coverage: 'Drunk Enough to Say I Love You?' Opening

The Public Theater continues its spring season with the U.S. premiere of Drunk Enough to Say I Love You?, a new play by Caryl Churchill presented in association with the Royal Court Theatre. This two-character play, directed by James Macdonald and featuring Scott Cohen and Samuel West, comes to The Public after an acclaimed run at the Royal Court in London last year. Drunk Enough to Say I Love You? will begin previews on Wednesday, March 5 and run through Sunday, April 6 with an official press opening on Sunday, March 16 at 7PM. Tickets are $50 with student tickets available in advance, at the box office only, for $25 (1 per ID). There are a limited number of Rush Tickets sold an hour before curtain at every performance available to the general public (Two per person, $20 each, cash only). Barry Edelstein Named Director of Shakespeare Lab; 2008 Applications Now Available

The Public Theater announced that Barry Edelstein will be the Director of The Public Theater Shakespeare Lab. The Public is now accepting applications for the 2008 Shakespeare Lab, a twelve-week acting intensive scheduled to take place June 2 through August 25, 2008. The application deadline is Friday, March 21.
