La Jolla Playhouse presents American Night: The Ballad of Juan José, written by Richard Montoya (Zorro in Hell) for Culture Clash, developed by Culture Clash and Jo Bonney (The Seven, Adoration of the Old Woman), directed by Jo Bonney. A co-production with Center Theatre Group and originally commissioned and produced by the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, American Night: The Ballad of Juan José will run through February 26, 2012 in the Sheila and Hughes Potiker Theatre. La Jolla Playhouse Cast to Continue With AMERICAN NIGHT at CTG/Kirk Douglas Theatre

The cast has been set for the new work, "American Night: The Ballad of Juan Jose," written by Richard Montoya, developed by Culture Clash and Jo Bonney and directed by Bonney. "American Night," a co-production with La Jolla Playhouse, begins performances at Center Theatre Group's Kirk Douglas Theatre, March 9 after closing in La Jolla in late February. The show continues at the Douglas through April 1, 2012. Opening night is March 11.

The New Group presents Russian Transport, written by Erika Sheffer, in a world premiere limited engagement January 17 - March 10, 2012. Directed by Scott Elliott, the production features Janeane Garofalo, Daniel Oreskes, Morgan Spector, Sarah Steele and Raviv Ullman. Official Opening Night is Monday, January 30 at The New Group @ Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street).

On Friday, October 21st, close to 500 women and girls, (and some men and boys) stood in line waiting for the doors to open at Berkeley Repertory's Roda Theater. They were here to soak in, celebrate and be energized by one woman, the amazing avatar of all things "girl," Eve Ensler, who was here to make a special announcement.

Joe's Pub at The Public Theater, New York Theatre Workshop, and Friends of the Jenin Freedom Theatre announced today an evening of song, video and performance on October 30th, 2011 at 7:00pm to benefit the Freedom Theatre. Tickets are $100 and the event is hosted by Pulitzer Prize-winner Tony Kushner and featuring Academy Award-winner David Byrne, Pulitzer Prize-winner Suzan-Lori Parks, Grammy-winners Aimee Mann and Angelique Kidjo, Tony Award-winner Audra McDonald, Palestinian hip-hop group DAM, as well as a special performance by the acting company of The Freedom Theatre. The entire evening is directed by Jo Bonney.

Today, at an event overflowing with fans of her work, Tony Award-winning playwright, performer, and activist Eve Ensler announced that Berkeley Repertory Theatre will present the world premiere of her new show. On the stage of the Roda Theatre, she revealed that Emotional Creature - which was developed during workshops in Johannesburg and Paris - will debut in Berkeley next June. Known for launching high-profile projects such as American Idiot and Passing Strange, Berkeley Rep is the perfect place to begin this journey.
