In honor of Presidents Day, the Journey Through Hallowed Ground Partnership and the Thomas Balch Library will be hosting a book talk with former White House Official Tevi Troy on February 18th. The event, which will take place in the Council Chambers of the Leesburg Town Hall, kicks with a reception from 6:00-7:00 p.m. and Troy's talk will start at 7:00 p.m. Troy's latest book is called 'What Jefferson Read, Ike Watched, and Obama Tweeted: 200 Years of Popular Culture in the White House,' which connects nicely with presidential history and at the same time relates to pop culture of today as well as yesterday.

Urban Stages Founding Artistic Director Frances Hill and producer Peter Napolitano present the World Premiere of Character Man as part of its 30th Anniversary season. Jim Brochu's new musical memoir begins an Off-Broadway run at Urban Stages Theatre (259 West 30th Street) February 28th, with opening night set for Wednesday March 5th. This limited run will continue through March 30th only. Robert Bartley directs, with musical direction by Carl Haan. Character Man will have scenic & video design by Patrick Brennan, lighting design by Meghan Santelli and sound design by Sean Hagerty.

The production will open at National Geographic headquarters tonight, September 12, and will run through Saturday, September 21.
