Bob Costas, Rosanne Cash, and Sam Donaldson will be honored at the Sixth Annual WFUV Gala on Thursday, May 9, at Edison Ballroom.

Awards:

· Veteran reporter/anchor and ABC contributor Sam Donaldson - "Charles Osgood Lifetime Achievement Award in Broadcast Journalism"

· Rosanne Cash - WFUV's "Artist of the Year"

· Sportscaster and commentator Bob Costas - "Vin Scully Lifetime Achievement Award in Sports Broadcasting"

· The Agnes Varis Charitable Trust, WFUV Community Service Award

Special guests include: Southside Johnny, John Leventhal, Cliff Eberhardt, Alejandro Escovedo, Marshall Crenshaw, Crystal Bowersox, Marc Cohn, Elizabeth Vargas, Suzanne Vega, Garland Jeffreys, Diego Garcia, Pete and Maura Kennedy (The Kennedys), Nicole Atkins

Award Presenters: Don Was, recording artist, producer, and president of Blue Note Records; Charles Osgood, CBS Sunday Morning Anchor; Mike Weisman, former executive producer of NBC Sports and 24-time Sports Emmy Award-winning producer; and Jarrett Lilien, President of the Jazz Foundation of America.

The gala will be held Thursday, May 9 beginning with a 6 p.m Cocktail Hour at the Edison Ballroom, 240 W. 47 St., Manhattan. Call (212) 201-7650 for more information.

The annual gala, now in its sixth year, has raised more than $2 million for WFUV (90.7 FM, www.wfuv.org). These much-needed funds enable WFUV to provide a unique blend of music, news and sports services, and to train the next generation of broadcasting talent. Previous WFUV gala honorees include Paul Simon, Emmylou Harris, Levon Helm, Dick Enberg, the late Ernie Harwell, Jim Lehrer, Tom Brokaw, Scully and Osgood.

New York's Rock and Roots station WFUV is a noncommercial, member-supported radio station, licensed to Fordham University for more than 60 years, serving nearly 400,000 weekly listeners throughout the New York metropolitan area and thousands more worldwide on the Web. The station has a full-time professional staff of 28, who work alongside and mentor a staff of 70 Fordham students.
