Last night was the press night for La Cage aux Folles [The Play] at Park Theatre.

Park Theatre and Adam Blanshay Productions are presenting the English Language World Premiere of La Cage aux Folles [The Play] by Jean Poiret.

La Cage aux Folles [The Play] runs at Park Theatre from 12th February - 21st March. Check out rehearsal photos below!

Casting has been confirmed for the English language World Premiere of La Cage aux Folles [The Play]. Jean Poiret's seminal classic spawned four blockbuster films and a Tony Award-winning musical. This new translation of the heartfelt farce by theatrical legend Simon Callow will star Michael Matus (Richard III a?" National Theatre and Headlong Theatre Tour, and King Lear a?" The Duke of York's Theatre) in the role of Georges and Paul Hunter (Founder of Told by an Idiot) as Albin. The cast is completed by Sarah Lam, Syrus Lowe, Peter Straker, Mark Cameron, Arthur Hughes, Simon Hepworth, Louise Bangay, Georgina Ambrey and William Nelson. It will be directed by Park Theatre's Artistic Director, Jez Bond, with a national press night on Wednesday 19th February at 7pm.

Park Theatre today announced details for their inaugural season of 2020. Featuring an array of premieres and celebrated revivals, the new season places particular focus on stories surrounding race, faith and sexuality to reflect the theatre's ever-diversifying community.

The Evening Standard's Progress 1000 list has named London's top theatre people. The list includes Bush Theatre artistic director Lynette Linton, actor Andrew Scott, director Marianne Elliott, and more.

Further performers have been revealed for Park Theatre's World Premiere murder mystery Whodunnit [Unrehearsed], as Adam Hills, Jason Manford, Neil Morrissey, Clarke Peters and Sandi Toksvig - with the voice of Miriam Margolyes - join the stellar list of participants. Every night, a different guest performer will step onstage to join the rehearsed ensemble of a scripted murder mystery play, having attended no rehearsals, read no script, nor received any direction. Armed only with a hidden earpiece to receive instructions, they will endeavour to solve the crime in real time.

Park Theatre today announced their new July - December 2019 season. Featuring four World Premiere productions, two UK and London Premieres and a range of revivals from Broadway and the West End, the theatre also introduces a revised young person's membership scheme called Park Up.

Park Theatre today announces their new theatre and artist development initiative, The Prism Project, which has been specially created to nurture BAME voices on stage, and provide a starting block which will help to disperse new stories. The project, spearheaded by Park Theatre's Administrator Melissa Bonnelame, will encompass a series of rehearsed readings at Park Theatre that will offer BAME creatives free rehearsal space and a professional theatre in which to develop and showcase diverse stories. The initiative hopes to address the need within the theatre industry to provide support and professional opportunities for BAME creatives and their work.

Park Theatre today announce their new January - June 2019 season. Featuring seven world and four UK/European premieres, thirteen productions include an array of new plays from celebrated writers, new work developed through Park Theatre's Script Accelerator programme and scripts based on true stories and personal accounts.

Park Theatre is to host two plays recognised by the SIT-Up Awards: a new award recently launched at the Edinburgh Fringe to reward and support theatre to achieve greater social impact. Standing for Social Impact Theatre, SIT-Up Sunday will offer a platform to two plays commended in the debut year: And Before I Forget I Love You, I Love You (5pm) by Pip Utton, and the 2018 award-winner Dangerous Giant Animals (7pm) by Christina Murdock on Sunday 28 October.

Park Theatre's production of Building The Wall presented a gala performance on Tuesday 15th May at 6pm, as part of Park Theatre's 5th birthday celebrations.

In the UK Premiere from Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning writer Robert Schenkkan (Hacksaw Ridge, All the Way), the political thriller Building The Wall comes to Park Theatre. A harrowing tale of the terrible events that resulted when Donald Trump made good on his promise to build a 'beautiful wall' between Mexico and the United States. The official press night will be Friday 4 May, 7pm.

Park Theatre today announce their new July - December 2018 season. Featuring a mix of new and existing writing, the season includes six World Premieres, one UK Premiere, three celebrated revivals and a brace of homegrown productions, two of which have been developed through Park Theatre's Script Accelerator programme.

In a rediscovery commissioned by the Finborough Theatre, The Melting Pot by Israel Zangwill runs at the Finborough Theatre, playing Sunday and Monday evenings and Tuesday matinees from Sunday, 3 December 2017. The classic story of a young Russian immigrant fighting to uphold his dream of a new life in a new country. After his family are massacred in a pogrom, Jewish composer David Quixano escapes to New York City, in search of a new life. There he falls in love with Vera, a beautiful Russian Christian.

The shortlist is announced today for the 2017 Achates Philanthropy Prize, the only annual Prize that celebrates first-time cultural giving in the UK.
