On this day in 2015, the world premiere run of the Tony-nominated musical Waitress began its world premiere run at American Repertory Theater.

"Cast Album Karaoke,"WAITRESS's hugely popular post-show party, will take place following the 7 PM show on Thursday August 23 when the show's composer and lyricist Sara Bareilles welcomes Nicolette Robinson at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre (256 West 47 Street). Nicolette will make her Broadway debut as Jenna on September 4. Ms. Bareilles also made her Broadway stage debut in the role of Jenna last year.

On today's “Live with Kelly and Ryan,” Ryan's guest co-host, “Scandal” star Katie Lowes shares “glamorous” backstage footage of the Broadway musical “Waitress,” as well as what she does during intermission (“mom life”).

WAITRESS, the Tony nominated musical will be premiering at the Eccles Theater on September 25th for a limited engagement and is looking for two young girls to perform the role of "Lulu" for the duration of the engagement.

Waitress', for those who may not know, is the tale of Jenna (Desi Oakley), a waitress/expert pie maker (more about this later), who finds herself impregnated by her emotionally, psychologically abusive husband
