According to a recent post by the A.R.T. the show already has plans for Broadway! The theatre auctioned off tickets to the show's opening night on Broadway as a part of its 2015 gala, teasing: 'See it in Cambridge before it heads to NYC!' Casting has not yet been announced, but a recent NYC workshop was led by Tony winner Jessie Mueller, Keala Settle, Bryce Pinkham, Christopher Fitzgerald, Barrett Wilbert Weed, and Eric Anderson.

Earlier today it was announced that The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University, will present the world premiere of Waitress- a new musical directed by Diane Paulus and featuring book by Jessie Nelson and music and lyrics by Sara Bareilles. This wasn't the only big news from Nelson though. Nelson, who wrote, directed, and produced Corrina Corrina with Whoopi Golberg, is in the process of writing a musical version for Audra McDonald, with Alan Menken and Brian Yorkey. She is also co-writing Alice By Heart with Steven Sater, music by Duncan Sheik.

The production will begin performances at the Loeb Drama Center on Saturday, August 1, 2015. Additional creative team and casting will be announced at a later date.

Sundance Institute has announced the 13 projects selected for its annual June Directors and Screenwriters Labs, taking place at the Sundance Resort in Utah from today, May 28 through June 28. Under the leadership of Michelle Satter, Founding Director of the Institute's Feature Film Program, and the artistic direction of Gyula Gazdag, the projects selected for this year's program include emerging filmmakers and projects from the United States, Italy, Romania, Australia, Algeria, France, Chile and the UK.
Based on Frank Wedekind's 1891 masterpiece 'The Awakening of Spring,' Spring Awakening is the contemporary musical adaptation of one of literature's most controversial plays. The musical - which was awarded eight 2007 Tony Awards including Best Musical, and continues to tour nationally today - features music by Duncan Sheik ('Barely Breathing'), and book and lyrics by Steven Sater (Carbondale Dreams). Now, the team has reportedly set their sights on re-imagining another classic for London's National Theatre: Alice in Wonderland.
Thewrap.com reports today that Mike Nichols, Meryl Streep and Jeff Bridges may be teaming up on the film, Great Hope Springs. Deals are reportedly close to being signed, according to the report.
