Salon Series-Staged Readings Of New Plays Begins Again 3/27

The Fire Dept Artistic Directors Erica Gould and Audrey Rosenberg have announced that the return of the company's Salon Series-staged readings of new plays, presented in non-proscenium environments that encourage an intimacy between audience and performer, followed by a discussion with the artists and noted guest speakers whose life experiences speak to the issues raised by the material-will begin with The Minotaur by Anna Ziegler (BFF), directed by Erica Gould (Neil LaBute's autobahn and Stand Up), and starring Mario Cantone (Sex and the City), Jill Clayburgh (Dirty Sexy Money, An Unmarried Woman), Campbell Scott (Dying Young, Singles, Longtime Companion), and Jeremy Webb (The Glorious Ones, Kander & Ebb's The Visit) on Friday, March 27 at 7 pm at the historic Players Club, 16 Gramercy Park South at 20th Street. The event will be produced by Audrey Rosenberg (Infamous with Sandra Bullock, upcoming documentary about Barack Obama).

Jessica Dickey's 'THE AMISH PROJECT' Opens At Cherry Lane

Cherry Lane Theatre, Angelina Fiordellisi Artistic Director and James King Managing Director will present 'The Amish Project' for three weeks as a work in progress from Saturday, January 10 through Sunday, February 1, 2009. 'The Amish Project', which is written and performed by Jessica Dickey, and directed by Sarah Cameron Sunde, is a one-person play inspired by the tragedy at the Nickel Mines Amish Settlement in 2006. Imbued with poetry and humor, the show explores a community grappling with loss and faith. Cherry Lane plans to produce the world premier in April.

Keen Company (Artistic Director Carl Forsman, Producer Wayne Kelton) will kick off its 2008-2009 season with a revival of the 1952 Tony Award-winning comedy The Fourposter by Jan de Hartog, directed by Blake Lawrence. Starring Todd Weeks and Jessica Dickey, this production will begin performances on Tuesday, October 7 at The Clurman Theatre / Theatre Row, 410 West 42nd Street, between 9th and 10th Avenues. Opening night is scheduled for Sunday, October 19. The Fourposter will run through November 22.
