On Monday, June 29th, New York Theatre Barn will present NYTB @ The Duplex, the monthly cabaret series that highlights new composers, lyricists, and performers.

The evening, titled Testify: The Songs of Matt Gould, will feature music by Matt Gould and performances from Uzo Aduba (Coram Boy), Joan Barber (Follies), Elizabeth Brackenbury (Vanities, LA), Alex Brightman (Wicked), Jenna Coker-Jones (Evil Dead), Jessica Dickey (The Amish Project), Chris Jones (Jersey Boys), Griffin Matthews (Cashmere Mafia), and Wade McCollum (Jersey Boys).

Jonathan Larson award winning composer Matt Gould presents a musical event that seduces audiences with what Backstage Magazine calls "a melodic gift." Of his highly acclaimed NYMF production of Twlight in Manchego, Live Journal raves, "Gould masterfully incorporates enough soul-splitting religious fervor to push you over the emotional edge." Testify is a testament to the fact that New York City has a new player on the music theatre scene.

The event takes place Monday, June 29th at 9:30pm at The Duplex Cabaret Theater (61 Christopher Street @ Seventh Avenue). There is a $10 cover plus 2-drink minimum.

For reservations please call 212-255-5438 or visit The Duplex's website: www.theduplex.com.

The NEW YORK THEATRE BARN is committed to creating and developing new, evocative works that are based on the principle that theatre is a collaborative art form that can only be successful when the process of the artists involved is nurtured and supported, and when the artists are encouraged to explore new ideas and the relevance of old ideas in a modern context, as well as themes and issues that will influence and effect future generations of theatre artists and audiences. At the same time, the NEW YORK THEATRE BARN will encourage and nurture the development of a diverse community of artists who share the same ideas and background, and who will be dedicated to the education and advancement of their fellow artists and the community they serve.
