Georgia Ensemble Theatre (GET), North Fulton's only professional theatre company, will cap its 25th Silver Anniversary Season sponsored by The Thoresen Foundation, with what's been dubbed as the world's most successful rock & roll musical, Buddy - the Buddy Holly Story.

The Alliance Theatre is pleased to announce its upcoming production of CANDIDE, directed by Alliance Theatre Jennings Hertz Artistic Director Susan V. Booth with musical direction by Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Music Director Robert Spano.  Performances are May 9 - 20, 2018 in Symphony Hall, while the Alliance Theatre undergoes a complete renovation.  Opening night is Friday, May 11.

The world premiere of Astoria: Part Two the conclusion of a two-part stage adaptation of Peter Stark's best-selling bookASTORIA: John Jacob Astor and Thomas Jefferson's Lost Pacific Empire; A Story of Wealth, Ambition, and Survival adapted and directed by Chris Coleman begins preview performances at The Armory on January 20, opens January 26 and closes February 18.

The winners of the 13th Annual Suzi Bass Awards have been decided!

The Suzi Bass Awards revealed nominations for the 2016-2017 Atlanta professional theatre season on Monday evening, September 18, to patrons and industry artists.

Rehearsals are underway for Alliance Theatre's upcoming production of Shakespeare in Love, based on the 1998 film that won seven Academy Awards including Best Picture. Georgia Shakespeare co-founder and Artistic Director Richard Garner is directing this love letter to William Shakespeare in his company's former home at Oglethorpe University's Conant Performing Arts Center while the Alliance Theatre undergoes a complete renovation. Performances are August 30 - September 24, 2017.  Opening night is Today, September 6. Peter Stark's best-selling bookASTORIA: John Jacob Astor and Thomas Jefferson's Lost Pacific Empire; A Story of Wealth, Ambition, and Survival comes to life on stage at The Armory in a world premiere production directed and adapted by Chris Coleman. Astoria: Part One is the first world premiere to debut as part of the company's new Northwest Stories series. This monumental piece of American history will be told in two parts over the course of two seasons. Astoria: Part One opens on the U.S. Bank Main Stage on January 20, with preview performances beginning January 14, and regular performances running through February 12. Select dates will be presented as part of Fertile Ground, a city-wide festival of new works held every January in Portland. Astoria: Part Two will be presented during the 2017-2018 season.

An unconventional convention filled with laugh-out-loud livestock-inspired comedy, Aurora Theatre will debut its 2016-17 GGC Harvel Lab Series with the Southeastern regional premiere of Singles in Agriculture, September 16- October 9! This brand-new production, written by Abby Rosebrock, brings together lonely farmers looking for love - or at least the next best thing - during an annual dating conference. With only one weekend to graze the field for eligible matches, a whole new meaning of "love birds" will be imparted on Atlanta audiences. Featuring the dynamic cast of Jeremy Aggers, Lauren Boyd and Vallea Woodbury, this hilarious presentation will prove that everything really is bigger in Texas, including how far some people will go for love!
