The award-winning Falcon's Eye Theatre closes its eleventh season with the American Tribal Love Rock Musical, HAIR. The Falcon's Eye celebrates the sixties counterculture in all its barefoot, long-haired, bell-bottomed, beaded and fringed glory with Gerome Ragni, James Rado and Galt MacDermot's HAIR. To an infectiously energetic rock beat, the show wows audiences with songs like "Aquarius," "Good Morning, Starshine," "Hair," "I Got Life," and "Let The Sun Shine." Exploring ideas of identity, community, global responsibility and peace, HAIR remains relevant as ever as it examines what it means to be a young person in a changing world.
Through the eyes and lens of filmmaker, photographer and author Alyscia Cunningham, she has the profound ability to capture inner-beauty that captivates both viewers and readers. Artdromeda Baltimore will present a closing reception and the Bald, Beautiful, & Bold Benefit Fashion Show, which will help raise funds for Cunningham's latest project, 'I Am More Than My Hair,' a documentary film and book soon to be released. This two-part project is dedicated to women who have experienced hair loss. The goal of her film and book is to redefine beauty by promoting inner-beauty despite hair loss.
'I am incredibly grateful for this upcoming fundraising event,' said Cunningham. When I attended the Broadway incarnation of In the Heights, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Accordingly, when they announced their current season, I had the upmost confidence that the showing at the gorgeous The John W. Engeman Theatre was going to be just as stellar. Being the Engeman Theatre, I was proven right. The wonderful production runs through April 29th at the Northport venue masterfully directed by Paul Stancato.

As reported in Deadline, visionary director Ava DuVernay is set to direct the upcoming screen adaptation of THE NEW GODS, from DC and Warner Brothers. The comic book based story, from creator Jack Kirby, will get the film treatment with a script from Kario Salem. A leading laboratory for new dance in the U.S., the 15th annual National Choreographers Initiative will take place this summer from July 9 to July 28.
