The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts produces, in association with La Jolla Playhouse, a re-imagining of Henry Krieger and Bill Russell's Side Show. Directed by Academy Award winning director Bill Condon, the musical closes at La Jolla Playhouse tonight, December 17 and will open at the Kennedy Center Eisenhower Theater in spring 2014. The musical features book and lyrics by Bill Russelland music by Henry Krieger who will revise the show before its debut at La Jolla.
A Picasso by Jeffrey Hatcher opens in January at the Promenade Playhouse at 1404 3rd Street Promenade, Santa Monica, 90401. The play runs Friday's and Saturday's at 8 p.m. on January 10th, 11th, 17th, 18th, and 31st and February 1st, 7th, 8th, 14th, and 15th.
Lowell, MA - Merrimack Repertory Theatre (MRT) will be celebrating its 35th season with a black-tie gala onSaturday, June 21. Congresswoman Nicola Tsongas will present the Paul Tsongas Award to UMass Lowell Chancellor Marty Meehan in recognition of his long-time personal support and his continued work to build and expand MRT's partnership with UMass Lowell. The event will also feature the Reduced Shakespeare Company presenting 'The Complete History of MRT (abridged),' a 10-minute sketch created especially for this event.
The customers are grown up versions of children from holiday classics. Bringing them together here is the brainchild of Artistic Director Rob Ruggiero, who expertly directs a three-actor team: Carroll as the bartender and Harry Bouvy and Christine Pedi, who bring to life male and female characters in shorts by seven different playwrights.
What do women want? Comedian Robert Dubac pinpoints the difference between the sexes and then celebrates them with 90 minutes of non-stop laughter in THE MALE INTELLECT: AN OXYMORON?, coming to Bristol Riverside Theatre January 9th - January 12th.
TheaterWorks will present the holiday World Premiere Christmas on the Rocks -- an offbeat collection of twisted holiday tales by multiple nationally known playwrights. These darkly humorous stories run tonight, December 3 through 22, 2013.
Performances run Friday, January 3 at 8:00 PM, Saturday, January 4 at 2:00 PM and 8:00 PM, and Sunday, January 5 at 3:00 PM.
