Simple Machine to Present Stage Adaptation of THE TURN OF THE SCREW, 11/8-23

James' classic story of a young governess charged with caring for two orphaned children at a lonely English country estate is one of the most famous Victorian ghost stories ever written. Hatcher's adaptation ratchets up the psychological suspense and intimacy of the story with two actors playing all the roles.

Bristol Riverside Theatre to Present Stage Adaptation of PRIDE AND PREJUDICE, 10/29-11/24

Bristol Riverside Theatre continues its season with Jon Jory's adaptation of Pride & Prejudice in celebration of the 200th anniversary of Jane Austen's beloved novel. Running October 29-November 24, the production, directed by BRT's Artistic Director Keith Baker, features the ensemble cast ofJessica Bedford, Grant Chapman, Rose Fairley, Michael Gamache, Jessica Gruver, Michael Halling, Hannah Kahn, Samantha Kuhl, Mark LeVasseur, Robert Ian Mackenzie, Topher Mikels, Erin Mulgrew, Mary Elizabeth Scallen, and Jo Twiss.

Playwright Jeffrey Hatcher Wins 2013 Ivey Lifetime Achievement Award

The Twin Cities theater community bestowed on Jeffrey Hatcher, nationally-renowned playwright, the Lifetime Achievement Award, and performer, director and playwright Ricardo Vasquez the Emerging Artist Award at the 9th annual Ivey Awards. The celebration, held Monday, September 23, at the Historic State Theatre in downtown Minneapolis, honors and showcases the work of professional theater companies and artists over the past year.

COCA to Present THE TURN OF THE SCREW, 10/25-26

COCA Presents 2013-2014 stages four performances of The Turn of the Screw, October 25-26. Henry James' provocative psychological thriller has a contemporary re-telling by Jeffrey Hatcher. A governess alone in the English countryside suspects the orphans in her care are connected to spirits she sees roaming the estate. Does something sinister lurk behind the children's innocent faces, or are the ghosts just a product of her own fevered imagination?

Artists Rep Presents MISTAKES WERE MADE, Now thru 10/27

Michael Mendelson plays the lead role of Felix Artifex in Artists Rep's production of MISTAKES WERE MADE. Artistic Director Damaso Rodriguez directs Mendelson and guides the show to opening as the production's Associate Director. Preview performances begin tonight, September 24 and the play will open on September 28.

MRS. MANNERLY to Open 10/11 at TheaterWorks

From the author of Ella: Off the Record comes Mrs. Mannerly by Jeffrey Hatcher. The irreverent and clever comedy will run at TheaterWorks in Downtown Hartford, October 11 through November 17, 2013.

CINDERELLA, SHREK, Dr. Seuss' THE CAT IN THE HAT and More Set for Children's Theatre Company's 2013-14 Season

As one of the twenty largest professional regional theatres in the U.S., Children's Theatre Company is the national leader in creating work for young audiences, ages two through eighteen. The 2013-2014 Season will be among the most innovative with three world premieres, two extraordinary guest companies, a new preschool piece and a Broadway musical. The season will also include a beloved classic never before seen at CTC and a Philip Pullman masterpiece brought to the stage for the first time. The Wong Kids in The Secret of the Space Chupacabra Go! by Lloyd Suh is CTC's first ever sci-fi anime inspired production. Sir Ian McKellen to Portray Sherlock Holmes

Screen Daily reports that Sir Ian McKellen will reunite with his 'Gods and Monsters' director Bill Condon to portray famed detective Sherlock Holmes in A SLIGHT TRICK OF THE MIND.
