POWDER BURNS, the Western audio drama that takes place solely from the perspective of a blind sheriff, took home the award for Outstanding Storytelling / Best Performance at the 2017 Voice Arts Awards at Lincoln Center Sunday night.

TACT continues the 2016 - '17 season with the World Premiere of The Gravedigger's Lullaby, a play that arrives on the Mainstage by way of the company's 2015 newTACTics New Play Festival, where it was workshopped and developed. The Gravedigger's Lullaby opened on Sunday, March 12th, for a strictly limited run through Saturday April 1st at The Beckett Theatre at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street, between 9th and 10th Avenues). THE FANTASTICKS, the Tom Jones (book and lyrics) and Harvey Schmidt (music) musical holds the honor of being 'the only Off-Broadway show to have won a Tony.' In addition, the show, which has been playing in New York for 56 years, is also the longest running theatrical production in American theater history.

Great Lakes Theater (GLT), Cleveland's Classic Company, concludes its 2016-17 season with the classic musical, The Fantasticks. The production will be performed in the company's intimate and audience-friendly home at the Hanna Theatre, Playhouse Square, May 13-29, 2016. Victoria Bussert directs the production. The Fantasticks is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).

The Actors Company Theatre (TACT) announced today that the TACT 2016 Spring Gala will honor former TACT Co-Artistic Director and current company member Simon Jones.

There are some St. Louis connections in this current production of PETER AND THE STARCATCHER. There's local author Ridley Pearson who, along with Dave Barry, crafted a terribly interesting and arresting 'prequel' to the story of Peter Pan with their entertaining novel Peter and the Starcatcher. The stage version of this tale, written by Rick Elice, is an equally imaginative and inspired effort that utilizes a relatively small cast, with just about everyone playing multiple roles, that takes off at a frenetic pace that captures the same qualities that distinguished the original work. I'd seen a touring version over a year ago, but this production by The St. Louis Repertory Theatre is absolutely amazing. It just seems fresher, more touching, and more joyful. I highly recommend this show, as it appeals to families with humor and heart that anyone old or young can enjoy!

TACT/The Actors Company Theatre presents the Off Broadway premiere of HARD LOVE, the searing 2003 play by Israeli playwright Motti Lerner. This first play of the 2015/16 season -- the company's 23rd -- is directed by TACT Artistic & Executive Director Scott Alan Evans, who most recently directed Beyond Therapy by Christopher Durang. The show is currently playing at Theatre Row's Beckett Theatre. The play celebrated its opening last night, October 11th, and performances continue through October 31, 2015. Abingdon Theatre Company - which has produced more than 83 new American plays in its 22-year history - just celebrated its 2014-2015 Season with ABINGDON: WHERE THE STARS ALIGN, its annual benefit gala and dinner,on October 20 at Espace (635 West 42nd Street in Manhattan). The entertaining evening honored Emmy Award-winning talk show host and actor Dick Cavett, star of Hellman v. McCarthy at Abingdon last season, and philanthropist Dr. Vijay K. Anand, a world-renowned endoscopic sinus surgeon and avid supporter of the arts.
