Theatre Arts Productions (TAP) will stage TAP Shorts, an evening of short plays written, performed and directed by up-and-coming artists. This festival will take place on Saturday, December 28 at 7:30 p.m. at Standing Ovation Performing Arts.

The Short+Sweet Hollywood Festival of short plays, films and dance concluded this year's Festival competition at the Marilyn Monroe Theatre in West Hollywood.

The who's who of Miami Theatre gathered in a packed house. Stepping into what felt like a Beach Party film of the 1960s, the party was underway. Images of typical summer fun from Surfboards and flipflops found everywhere along with palm tree cutouts and a photo opt right at the entrance. City Theatre and Adrienne Arsht Center's SUMMER SHORTS 2019 runs May 30 through June 23 at Carnival Studio Theater on the Susan Westfall Stage (named after City Theatre's Co-Founder). Samuel French has announced the winners of the 2018 Samuel French Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival, the nation's premier short play competition.

Samuel French announces that award-winning playwright and cabaret artist Charles Busch (The Tale of the Allergist's Wife, Psycho Beach Party, Vampire Lesbians of Sodom) has happily stepped in for the previously announced Lauren Yee (The King of the Yees, The Great Leap, The Hatmaker's Wife) who had to recuse herself due to a scheduling conflict.

The Samuel French Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival, the nation's premier short play competition, takes place August 21-25 at The Vineyard's Dimson 15th Street Theatre. Chosen from over 850 submissions from the U.S. and abroad, 30 finalist plays and musicals, each running 10-30 minutes in length, will be presented. The Saturday, August 25th presentation is the culmination of the week-long festival at which the Samuel French staff will choose the winning six pieces for licensing and publication in an anthology.

Bridge Falls Entertainment (Steven Roche and Paul Belsito), Sheena Metal Productions, Christine Pynn, Jay Hopkins and Susan Goldstein have announced the West Coast premiere of Unauthorized! A Bad Dream on Elm Avenue at the Atwater Village Theatre in Los Angeles. Created, written, and composed by Ryan Mercy and Christopher W. Barnes and directed by Barnes, the production will play seven performances only from October 7-16.
