ISLAND SONG: A NEW MUSICAL Set to Run At Phoenix Arts Club

Following the success of the recent Crazy Coqs production of 'Bare', BJW Productions are set to present 'Island Song', a new musical by Sam Carner and Derek Gregor. Island Song is a tale of five New Yorkers that are caught in a twisted love affair with the city. This unique musical will take you on a journey through their poignant and hilarious lives and tease you with the possibilities the city dangles before them. Driven by its kinetic and eclectic score featuring 5 MAC nominated songs, Island Song captures every urbanites triumphs, disappointments, and ever-tested perspective.

Lakewood Theatre Company to Stage CAMELOT

The legendary love triangle of King Arthur, Guenevere and Sir Lancelot leaps from the pages of T.H. White’s novel in Lerner and Loewe's award-winning musical Camelot at Lakewood Theatre Company beginning April 29, 2022. Freshly reimagined in a new adaptation as a “play-within-a-play” told by a band of ten traveling Revelers, this story of passion, jealousy, and revenge, directed by Dennis Corwin, is perfectly scaled for Lakewood’s stage.

Los Angeles Master Chorale to Host 33rd Annual High School Choir Festival

Celebrating its 33rd year and returning to an in-person celebration, the Los Angeles Master Chorale’s annual High School Choir Festival (HSCF), led by Kiki & David Gindler Artistic Director Grant Gershon, will take place at The Music Center’s Grand Park, Friday, April 29, 2022, at 11 a.m. Bringing together 500 high school students from 18 schools, the Festival will feature music from Sam Cooke and Sara Bareilles, to Reena Esmail and Handel. Sixteen singers from the Los Angeles Master Chorale, conducted by Associate Artistic Director Jenny Wong, will also perform.

Premiere Stages At Kean University Announces 2022 Premiere Play Festival Finalists

Premiere Stages, the professional theatre company in residence at Kean University, has selected its four finalists for the 2022 Premiere Play Festival. Now in its 17th year, the Festival is an annual competition for unproduced scripts that offers developmental opportunities to playwrights with strong affiliations to New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Delaware. This year's finalists were selected from 655 submissions.

Invictus Theatre Company Announces Full Casting for WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF?

Invictus Theatre Founding Artistic Director Charles Askenaizer today announced full casting for the company’s season closing production of Edward Albee’s WHO’S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF?. In this four-character drama that is often as wickedly funny as it is heartbreaking, two married couples battle with their spouses and each other over an alcohol-fueled night in a small, overstuffed living room. The tension the characters feel in these close quarters will be conveyed to the audience in Askenaizer’s storefront production in the 40-seat Reginald Vaughn Theatre at 1106 W. Thorndale, Chicago. 

Club44 Records Releases New Album from Carol Sloane, Live at BIRDLAND

CLUB44 RECORDS has announced the new album Carol Sloane, Live at Birdland, which is available on streaming platforms and on CD in stores and online today, Friday, April 8. This release marks the veteran vocalist’s 60th anniversary as a recording artist, and her first album in over a decade. Recorded at the legendary New York jazz boite in September 2019, she was joined by an all-star trio, including the late Mike Renzi on piano, Jay Leonhart on bass, and Scott Hamilton on saxophone. South Carolina Pep Band Serenades Women's Basketball Champions With Broadway Fight Song

Shortly after the final seconds of the University of South Carolina Lady Gamec*cks championship win ticked off the clock and the women launched into celebration, Dr. Quintus Wrighten and his beloved Carolina Basketball Band (the Gamec*cks’ pep band), unbeknownst to them, had their own “One Shining Moment” coming their way.    

M.A.D.D. Rhythms and Chicago Tap Theatre to Hold Weekend of Classes and Performances

M.A.D.D.
