Keen Company's Teens Program Returns for 10th Year

The Drama Desk and Obie Award-winning Keen Company (Jonathan Silverstein - Artistic Director, Mark Armstrong - Keen Teens Producer) will present the Tenth Season of Keen Teens.  This season's offerings will be Thirty Million, a new musical with music and lyrics by Max Vernon; book by Jason Kim, directed by Mark Armstrong, with choreography by Brad Landers and musical direction by Lena Gabrielle; Landlines by Hannah Bos and Paul Thureen, directed by Liz Carlson; and How The Moon Would Talk by Nick Gandiello, directed by Sash Bischoff. Auditions will be February 3rd through 5th. SONGS FROM MRS. MANNERLY and More Join Alley All New Festival 2016 Lineup

Alley Theatre announces the full line-up for the inaugural Alley All New Festival, featuring recent additions - Songs from Mrs. Mannerly, a musical in progress, music by Michael Moricz, lyrics by Jack Murphy, based on the play by Jeffrey Hatcher and directed by Alley Artistic Director Gregory Boyd; The Harassment of Iris Malloy by Zak Berkman, directed by Alley Resident Assistant Director Brandon Weinbrenner and a special Early Draft Preview, featuring works in progress by Kenneth Lin and Janine Nabers.

The New York Times Reinstates Designer Credits for Theatre Reviews

Members and constituents of United Scenic Artists Local USA 829 have been busy speaking out against The New York Times' recent decision to leave out the names of shows' designers when listing credits for theatre productions at the end of reviews. As of today, their hard work has paid off.

New York Theatre Workshop Names 2015-16 Season's 2050 Fellows

New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) has announced the playwrights and directors selected for the 2015/16 season 2050 Fellowship. The playwrights are Nathan Alan Davis, Hansol Jung and Patricia Ione Lloyd and the directors are Noelle Ghoussaini, Alexandru Mihail and Danya Taymor. 

The Spring Fling 2015 Kicks Off Today

F*It Club, the New York Innovative Award-winning film and theatre company, continues its annual series of short, commissioned world-premiere plays at the IRT Theater as part of their 3B Development Series in Manhattan's West Village with The Spring Fling: Anniversary, six new short plays by Jon Caren (The Recommendation), Matthew-Lee Erlbach (Eager To Lose), Elizabeth Irwin (My Mañana Comes), Erica Saleh (In Memory of Julie Simmons), Sarah Sander (Playgrounds), and Daniel Talbott (Slipping).

Hartford Stage Names Elizabeth Williamson New Associate Artistic Director

Hartford Stage Artistic Director Darko Tresnjak has promoted Elizabeth Williamson, currently Senior Dramaturg and Director of New Play Development for the Tony Award-winning theatre, to the position of Associate Artistic Director. She replaces Maxwell Williams, now Artistic Director of Le Petit Theatre du Vieux Carre in New Orleans.

One of the theater world's most prestigious playwriting prizes, the Yale Drama Series Prize, was given to Janine Nabers for her play Serial Black Face at the 8th annual Yale Drama Series Award Ceremony last night, Thursday, September 11, 2014 at Lincoln Center Theater. The award recipient was chosen by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Marsha Norman, who served as the judge for the 2013 and 2014 competitions. Check out a look back below!
