The exhibition includes a section of rotational highlights and a gallery dedicated to rarely shown installation-based works. 'Unapologetic: All Women, All Year' will be on view February 15, 2020 - January 31, 2021.
Houston Center for Contemporary Craft (HCCC) and KINETIC present a free one-night concert inspired by the solo exhibition, Nathalie Miebach: The Water Line, featuring work by the contemporary basket weaver and sculptor that focuses on the major hurricanes of 2017: Harvey, Irma, and Maria. Fascinated by two narratives generated by every disaster--one based on science, encompassing temperature, wind and pressure gradients, and one based on human experience--Miebach translates information from these storms into graphic music scores, large-scale woven installations, and sculptures. As part of the artist's Weather Score Project, The Water Line Concert will feature two new compositions, inspired by Hurricane Harvey, by Houston composers Shane Monds and Kyle Rivera, as well as existing compositions by Matthew Jackfert and Harrison Ponce, based on other hurricanes. Miebach will be present to speak about her work in the exhibition and her collaborations with various composers.

Environmental Impacts will present works on paper across four bodies of work from the acclaimed artist--Tornados, Ocean Blue, Forest Fires and Environmental Impact (Shotguns). Austin-based, indie Americana artist William Harries Graham is thrilled to release his brand new album, “Jakes,”today. Recorded and mixed by platinum, Grammy-award winner Stuart Sullivan at Wire Recording in Austin, Texas, the record features William Harries Graham on lead vocals and guitar, Mike Meadows on the drums and keys, Andrew Duplantis on bass and background vocals, Bobby Daniel on bass and Abra Moore on vocals. “Jakes” is Graham's second full-length record following his 2015 debut, “Foreign Fields,” and the title pays homage to the neon sign above the pool table in the back room of the historic Continental Club, where Graham plays a Wednesday night residency that he has been doing for four years. William Harries Graham will be doing a Waterloo Records in-store performance on Sunday, March 3 at 5 p.m. to perform some tracks from his new record. See here for more information. Additionally, several events relate to its 2019 spring exhibition "Now Playing: Video 1999-2019." These events offer guests the opportunity to engage with artists, the community and museumgoers to consider the questions and themes explored throughout the Museum.
