BendFilm announced today a lineup full of creative ways to see films outside in the comfort of a car or in the open air of Tin Pan Alley. Vexations is a mysterious composition by Erik Satie, which takes on another dimension when the instructions at the top of the score are followed. Satie asks the performer to play the piece 840 times without a break, very slowly, which can take as long as 24 hours. Satie offers the following advice:  a?oeIn order to play the theme 840 times in succession, it would be advisable to prepare oneself beforehand, and in the deepest silence, through serious immobility.a??

Modern English Announce 40th Anniversary North American Summer Appearances

Legendary post-punk band MODERN ENGLISH have just announced their upcoming North American summer headline tour. Celebrating its 40th anniversary and performing its breakthrough 1982 album, After the Snow, in its entirely, the tour will kick off on Friday, June 12 in San Diego, CA and extend through Saturday, July 11. The tour will visit additional markets such as Los Angeles, CA on June 14, Vancouver, BC on June 20, Denver, CO on June 23, New York, NY on July 2, Atlanta, GA on July 8, and culminate with a performance at Respectable Street in West Palm Beach, FL on July 11. A full listing of dates can be found below. Support will be provided by Vancouver and New York post-punk bands ACTORS and Bootblacks on select dates, and more information on tickets can be found on the band's Facebook page HERE. The track has just premiered on Magnetic Magazine. Gang of Four will release a new EP, 'Complicit' on April 20, 2018, their first new material in three years. The EP bookends a period since 2015's critically acclaimed album What Happens Next, during which Gang of Four has been championed by artists as diverse as St Vincent, James Murphy, Pharrell Williams and Frank Ocean, the latter of which sampled the band on Blonde. With a new Gang of Four studio album due in Summer 2018, the band are trailing news of the EP with the first new track to emerge from the release, 'Lucky' (stream here).
