Metropolitan Opera Music Director, Yannick Nézet-Séguin conducts Franco Zeffirelli's celebrated production of Turandot, which stars Christine Goerke in the title role of the icy Chinese princess who has renounced all men. Roberto Aronica sings Calàf, the suitor who risks his head for her hand and sings the famed aria a?oeNessun dorma.a?? Eleonora Buratto is the slave girl Liù, and James Morris is Calàf's long-lost father, Timur. Turandot comes to The Ridgefield Playhouse on the big screen in HD on Monday, October 14th at 2pm, part of the Classical Series underwritten by Jeanne Cook, Liz & Steven Goldstone, and Sabina & Walter Slavin, with support from Whistle Stop Bakery.
The Warner Will Screen Puccini's TURANDOT Live From The Met

The 2019-2020 season of The Met: Live in HD will open at the Warner Theatre on Saturday, October 12 with Puccini's TURANDOT at 12:55 pm in the Nancy Marine Studio Theatre. The 2019-2020 season is sponsored by Viron Rondo Osteria. A complimentary 45 minute pre-opera lecture by Dr. Marguerite Mullee will be offered in the Studio Theatre Lobby two hours before the broadcast, sponsored by Land Rover Hartford.

Yusif Eyvazov will sing Calàf in the October 3, 6mat, 9, and 12mat performances of Puccini's Turandot, replacing Roberto Aronica, who has withdrawn for personal reasons. Riccardo Massi will sing the role in performances on October 19mat, 23, 26; the singer for the role in the October 31 performance will be announced at a later date.

Today, the Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival announced the full program for the 23rd edition of the city-wide event spanning the month of May, including its Core Programming of 23 Primary Exhibitions and 15 Public Installations. Influential American artist Carrie Mae Weems will headline this year's Festival with an exhibition in five parts sited at distinct locations across the city, representing her first solo exhibition in Canada. Stand Up To Cancer Canada (SU2C Canada) and the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) have joined forces to launch a new public service announcement (PSA) campaign featuring Canadian-born 'Will & Grace' star and Stand Up To Cancer Canada Ambassador Eric McCormack. The French and English campaign, including print, TV, radio, out-of-home, and digital PSAs, will be seen in media outlets beginning this month.
