MIAMI BEACH, Fla., Aug. 18, 2015 /PRNewswire/ From August 1-September 30 each year, Miami Spice turns Miami Beach into a city of epicurean experiences and experiments with chefs showcasing a wealth of new dishes, cocktails and desserts to foodies and travelers during the annual Miami Spice event. Miami Beach's culinary scene has evolved into a sophisticated and daring mashup of four and five star eateries helmed by celebrity chefs including Michael Schwartz, Tom Colicchio, Jean-Georges Vongerichten, Scott Conant and Jose Andres among others. Composer Paola Prestini, the Creative and Executive Director of National Sawdust (NS), today announced programming for the non-profit's inaugural fall season in its new home-a $16 million, 13,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art chamber hall in the heart of Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The performance and recording venue, designed by Brooklyn-based architecture firm Bureau V in the shell of century-old former sawdust factory, will provide composers and musicians a setting in which they can flourish, and a place where they are given commissioning support, mentoring and other critical resources essential to create, and then share, their work. For audiences-serious fans and casual listeners alike-the venue will be a place to discover genre-spanning music at accessible ticket prices.

The adventurous food series, The Mind of a Chef, returns to public television this fall with two new chefs, Gabrielle Hamilton and David Kinch.

Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) celebrated Shakespeare's vibrant legacy with GALA 2015 on Monday, June 8 at the Theater's home on Navy Pier, raising $1.2 million for Chicago Shakespeare in Urban Communities initiatives. Last week, Chef Rick Moonen, an advocate for sustainable fishing and seafood, was invited as a guest chef to the esteemed USA Pavilion at Expo Milano 2015, the first time that the popular world's fair has been food-themed, taking place in Milan now through October. Moonen was one of 50 guest chefs selected by the James Beard Foundation to represent the USA's "Culinary Dream Team."
