Andrea Frierson & Phoebe Strole Set for Premieres' INNER VOICES, Begin. 10/4

PREMIERES the New York based music theater organization whose mission is 'to bring new music theater to light,' has announced the complete cast and creative teams for this season's Inner Voices, the biannual series of solo works featuring news teams of playwrights and composers. Performances will begin on Saturday, October 4th at 3pm at The TBG Theatre (312 West 36th Street - between 8th & 9th Avenues). Opening Night is Saturday, October 11th at 8:00pm. Performances will continue through November 1.

Manhattan Theatre Works (MTWorks), in association with the Theater Series at the 14th Street Y, will present the World Premiere of Sweet, Sweet Spirit by Carol Carpenter (Outstanding Playwriting for Good Lonely People - Planet Connections Awards), directed by Joan Kane (2011 People of the Year in Indie Theatre - Martin Denton, nytheatre.com). Sweet, Sweet Spirit will play a three week limited engagement at The Theater at the 14th Street Y (344 East 14th Street at 1st Avenue). The Gallery Players Present NEXT TO NORMAL, 9/13-10/05

Gallery rocks Brooklyn once again as it kicks off Season 48 with the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning Next to Normal, September 13-October 5. Written by If/Then collaborators Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey, this groundbreaking rock musical tells the story of a mother struggling with bipolar disorder, and the effect it has on her family.

DONKEY PUNCH Begins Previews Tonight Off-Broadway at SoHo Playhouse

After a critically acclaimed run in June, Ivy Theatre will transfer their production of Micheline Auger's DONKEY PUNCH to Off-Broadway. Directed by Audrey Alford, previews of this limited engagement begin tonight, July 25 at SoHo Playhouse. Opening night is slated for Thursday, July 31.

Casting has been announced for the 2014 Planet Connections Theatre Festivity Gala 'One Acts for a Cause' set to take place on Sunday, June 22 at 7:30pm at the East 13th Street Theater (136 East 13th Street).The evening, which will benefit the non-profit NYC food services agency City Harvest, will feature Academy Award-winner Melissa Leo (The Fighter)?, three-time Tony Award nominee Mary Beth Hurt (Crimes of the Heart, films The World According to Garp & The Age of Innocence), Caissie Levy (currently starring as Fantine in LES MISERABLES), Phoebe Strole (Spring Awakening, Glee), Jonathan Walker (Rocky, The Assembled Parties), Eric Lenox Abrams (All The Way), Kellie Overbey (The Coast of Utopia) Tina Benko (Irena's Vow, Top Girls) & Andrew Garman (Salome with Al Pacino), Obie Award-winners Russell G. Gallery Players Closes Season with RENT, Now thru 5/18

Having successfully conquered a colorful year of programming that has received both critical and popular praise, The Gallery Players will bring their 47th Mainstage Season to a close with one of the most popular musicals to date - RENT. As Gallery has developed a reputation for reimagining these iconic pieces, President Mark Harborth (Chess, Dreamgirls) promises a unique experience for audiences already familiar with the show. 'You won't see a striped winter scarf in this production (or a sexy Santa suit for that matter) but you will hear every note of Jonathan Larson's passionate score performed by one of the most dynamic and talented casts and orchestras Gallery has assembled.'

Shannon Murdoch's VIRUS ATTACKS HEART to Premiere 5/18 in PCTF

This spring, Pull Together Productions will present the world premiere of Virus Attacks Heart by Yale Drama Series Award winning playwright, Shannon Murdoch, directed by Brian Gillespie, as part of the 6th Annual Planet Connections Theatre Festivity. The Festivity will take place May 12 through June 8 at the Paradise Factory.

Creative teams have been announced for the 2014 Planet Connections Theatre Festivity Gala 'One Acts for a Cause' set to take place on Sunday, June 22 at 7:30pm at the East 13th Street Theater (136 East 13th Street). The evening, which will benefit the non-profit NYC food services agency City Harvest, will showcase world premiere one-act plays by four acclaimed playwrights: Obie Award-winner Israel Horovitz's St Anne's Soup which will be directed by Planet Connections Festivity founder and Co-Artistic Director Glory Kadigan (Neil LaBute world premieres Over the River at The Signature, Two Minute Warning), Wendy MacLeod's Community Service which will be directed by Lucille Lortel nominee Moritz von Stuelpnagel (Hand to God), Snap! by Winter Miller which will be directed by Jessi D. Hill (Associate Artistic Director at terraNOVA Collective) & Eric Ehn and the Tenderloin Opera Company's Frail/Ingilin which will be directed by Mia Rovegno (Good Goods, Exquisite Corpse). Casting will be announced in May.

Gallery Players Opens A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC Tonight

As they continue their 47th Season, the Gallery Players' first production of the New Year will be Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler's elegantly sophisticated romantic comedy A Little Night Music. Based on the Ingmar Bergman film 'Smiles on a Summer Night,' the five-time Tony winning musical features an elaborate score of waltzes, including the Grammy-winning 'Send in the Clowns.' Night Music features the most iconic traits of Sondheim's repertoire, boasting a complex score riddled with hilarious wit. A delicate dream of a musical, the sentimental comedy follows a trio of mismatched lovers as they twist, turn, and tumble toward their true love. While the material is sure to impress, make no mistake that the lavish costumes and luxurious set will invite Gallery's audiences for a taste of 'The Glamorous Life.'
