After a banner year for their summer festivity and Playwrights for a Cause, Planet Connections Theatre Festivity will be hosting its annual awards ceremony honoring the finest of an outstanding season.

Theater for the New City presents UP THE RABBIT HOLE, a new play by Andy Halliday and directed by G.R. Johnson, opening Tuesday, September 26th at Theater for the New City (155 1st Avenue at 10th Street). Previews begin Thursday, September 21st with performances through Sunday, October 15th.

Ego Actus brings its one-woman show, Moonage Daydream to the 2017 Philadelphia Fringe Festival. Moonage Daydream tells the story of a young woman's coming of age with David Bowie as her imaginary guide.

The annual Playwrights for a Cause benefit, hosted by Planet Connections Theatre Festivity, addresses powerful social and topical issues in our society through the works of prominent playwrights. This year, the event will feature stories of standing up to injustice written by celebrated authors, Catherine Filloux, Lyle Kessler, Jose Rivera, and Regina Taylor. This year, the event will be Sunday, July 23, and will benefit the New York Civil Liberties Union with 'The Protest Plays,' stories of standing up to injustice written by celebrated authors, CATHERINE FILLOUX, Lyle Kessler, JOSE RIVERA, and Regina Taylor.

Erik Ehn's Quiet House directed by Glory Kadigan premieres June 23 at the 2017 Planet Connections Theatre Festivity (The Festivity runs June 12 - July 9 at The Clemente, 107 Suffolk Street, NYC).

'This is an excellent season of plays,' Glory Kadigan, founder and curator of Planet Connections Theatre Festivity's Playwrights For A Cause, said, remarking about this year's plays and playwrights, and now, the creative team. 'I'm so proud of the activist artists involved with Planet Connections for continuing to connect with audiences in so many creative ways while drawing attention to organizations who are on the front lines of this important work.'
