In a new production commissioned by the Finborough Theatre and originally seen as a staged reading as part of Vibrant 2016 - A Festival of Finborough Playwrights, the world premiere of Continuity by new playwright Gerry Moynihan runs at the Finborough Theatre, playing Sunday and Monday evenings and Tuesday matinees from Sunday, 30 July 2017.

Set over twenty-four hours in 1944, the musical follows three American sailors on shore leave in New York. Each has a whirlwind romance, before heading back to sea.

The very survival into the 21st century of an unfinished play written by a 23-year-old in 1836 is an extraordinary thing, made more extraordinary by the grimness of its subject. Even to call Georg Buchner's text a play - 'the world's first working-class tragedy' - is a bit of a stretch.
