Westport Country Playhouse (Joanne Woodward and Anne Keefe, artistic directors, and Jodi Schoenbrun Carter, managing director) will launch 'The Classical Series,' bringing together professional actors to read works by master playwrights. The series premiere will feature Emmy Award winner Jane Curtin, Tony Award winner Joanna Gleason, Obie Award winner Kristine Nielsen and stage, film and television actor Chris Sarandon.

On Monday, November 12 at the Cipriani Wall Street (55 Wall Street), Gerald Schoenfeld, Board Chairman of The Shubert Organization and The Shubert Foundation, received the Joan Warburg Humanitarian Award from The Acting Company. Legendary producer Edgar Lansbury was presented with the John Houseman Award honoring his commitment to the development of classical actors and a national audience for the theater.

The Falcon Theatre is thrilled to present Penny Marshall in the comedy, Sheldon & Mrs. Levine, written by Sam Bobrick and Julie Stein, directed by John Bowab. Marshall, famed actress and director, stars as the overbearing mother, with Desmond Harrington as her put-upon son, in the second production in Falcon Theatre's 2007-2008 all-comedy subscription season.
