The world-renowned Martha Graham Dance Company, celebrating its 97th season this year, will host its Spring 2023 Gala on Thursday, April 20, at 7pm.

Just last night, Dance Theatre of Harlem honored director, choreographer, actress and dancer Debbie Allen with the Arthur Mitchell Vision Award. The Chairman’s Award was given to Dr. Donald J. Rose and Dr. Wendy S. Ziecheck. 

Phoenix Arts and Aga Khan Museum have announced the world premiere of 1184, a historical retelling of the cusp of the fall of the Muslim Empire in Andalusia. This fall occurs after 500 years of Convivencia or coexistence between Muslims, Christians, and the Jewish people.

The renowned Dance Theatre of Harlem is poised to make a triumphant return to the New York stage following two seasons of successful digital programming with a week of performances at New York City Center.

Off The Lane presents, Not So Silent Night, available exclusively on Instagram (@offthelane) starting, December 22nd. Centered around the theme, 'What the Holidays mean to me,' The collaboration between the organization and BIPOC NYC based spoken word artists will feature exclusive pieces from, Kearah-Armonie, Dale Novella, Drew Drake, Camryn Bruno, J Rose, and Lyrical Faith.

Fresh off the prestigious TOdays Festival in Torino and a homecoming show to open the weeklong RadioEins Festival in Berlin, Bob Mould kicks off a three week solo electric tour of the United States on September 11 in Cleveland, OH. Today Bob Mould announces a string of new solo electric tour dates for September 2019, all following 25+ shows earlier this year in the United States and Europe in support of his latest full-length solo release Sunshine Rock. In addition to the solo dates there will be one Bob Mould Band appearance at Chicago's Riot Fest.The critically-acclaimed Sunshine Rock album, released on Merge Records, has dubiously been named his most vibrant and optimistic collection of songs to date. The seventh annual 'Night Of A Thousand Judys' - the Pride concert to benefit The Ali Forney Center written and hosted by Justin Sayre - featured the musical talents of two time Tony Award-nominee Christine Andreas (My Fair Lady, Oklahoma!), Nathan Lee Graham (Zoolander, 'LA to Vegas'), Brittain Ashford (The Great Comet of 1812), Matt Doyle (Spring Awakening, The Book of Mormon), Julian Fleisher (New York Public Radio), Molly Pope (Cafe Caryle, Adelaide Festival), Kat Cunning (HBO's 'The Deuce,' Company XIV), and Amber Martin (John Cameron Mitchell's The Origin of Love).

A new play by award winning Ottawa-based playwright Darrah Teitel opens next week to tell the story of abortion criminalization in Canada. As we continue to witness attacks on reproductive rights in in the US and Canada, The Omnibus Bill, presented by the TACTICS Theatre Series at Arts Court Theatre, could not be more relevant or urgent.

The Martha Graham Dance Company will host its annual gala on Tuesday, April 9, 2019. This special gala evening will honor Barbara Cohen, a Trustee of the Martha Graham Center, for her generosity and service to the company. Proceeds from the gala support the creation of new works and preservation of Martha Graham masterpieces. The event is the nonprofit organization's largest annual fundraiser. 

Last week Bob Mould released the album Sunshine Rock - a fresh and albeit glowing new collection that critics have spent the last few days raving about. Tomorrow Mould is set to start his international tour in support of the album. It's a journey that will take him across the United States and through Europe, including two shows the weekend of March 30-31 in Minnesota at The Palace and Turf Club in St. Paul (the very city where his legendary archetypal band Hüsker Dü formed) that mark Mould's 40th anniversary on the stage. The Turf Club show has already sold out. 

Opening on November 9, Hart House Theatre presents a retelling of classic tale by Canadian icon Margaret Atwood, The Penelopiad. Directed by a vigorous new talent, Michelle Langille, featuring a lead performance by powerhouse actor Amanda Cordner, and supported by an all-female ensemble of emergent talent, The Penelopiad is sure to be an empowering tour de force.

The night remained forever young at this year's Bessies, what with live performances, videos, tearful and grinning thank you's, hugs and cheers for the new slew of winners, and a costume sashay thrown into wild mix of celebration that took place tonight, October 8, at the NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts.  As a prelude to the goings-on inside, impromptu dance performances, including Simone Forti's "Huddle," took place outside.  Ayodele Casel and Shernita Anderson hosted the evening.

Two groundbreakers, Brooklyn Arts Exchange founder/director Marya Warshaw and avant-garde choreographer and dancer Simone Forti, have been tapped to receive The Bessies' highest honors. Warshaw, who will receive the 2018 NY Dance and Performance Award for Service to the Field of Dance and Forti, selected for the 2018 NY Dance and Performance Award for Lifetime Achievement in Dance, will be honored during the October 8 ceremony at NYU's Skirball Center for the Performing Arts.

Hennepin Theatre Trust will launch its tenth round of Made Here with Avenues: Made Here on Wednesday, June 20. Avenues: Made Here commemorates and reflects upon the last five years of Made Here by showcasing a collection of previous Made Here artists that have participated since its inception in 2013.

HBOAccess has announced the top 20 semi-finalists for their 2018 Directing Fellowship. The program supports directors who are interested in a career in television by giving them the opportunity to shoot a pilot presentation which will air on HBO, HBO GO, and HBO NOW.

The Meeting* hosted by Justin Sayre - the monthly gathering of the International Order of Sodomites, the centuries-old organization which sets the mythic Gay Agenda - will conclude its acclaimed eight year run this Sunday, May 14 with two performances at 7:00 PM and 9:30 PM at Joe's Pub at The Public Theater.
