WEST SIDE STORY Tour to Play Omaha 10/19-10/24

The first national tour of the current Broadway production of WEST SIDE STORY is coming to Omaha. WEST SIDE STORY will be presented at the Orpheum Theater October 19 - 24, 2010 by Omaha Performing Arts and Broadway Across America. Tony Award-winning librettist Arthur Laurents' Broadway direction will be recreated for the tour by David Saint, the Associate Director on Broadway. The original Jerome Robbins choreography is reproduced by Tony Award-nominee Joey McKneely (The Boy from Oz, The Life).

The producers of ROCK OF AGES announced today that the critically acclaimed, five-time Tony Award® nominated Broadway musical ROCK OF AGES will launch a 60-city, first national tour at The Bank of America Theatre, 18 West Monroe, Chicago, IL as part of ‘Broadway in Chicago' on September 21, 2010.

TDF/Irene Sharaff Awards Honor Lee & Wolsky, 4/23

Legendary costume designer ALBERT WOLSKY and world renowned scenic designer MING CHO LEE are among the 2010 TDF/Irene Sharaff Awards recipients. The awards will be presented at a ceremony on Friday, April 23 at 6:30pm at the Hudson Theatre (145 West 44th Street). Two-time Academy Award-winner Albert Wolsky will receive the 2010 TDF/Irene Sharaff Lifetime Achievement Award for costume design, and Tony Award-winning scenic designer and educator Ming Cho Lee will receive the TDF/Irene Sharaff Robert L.B. Tobin Award for Sustained Excellence in Theatrical Design.

The Quantum Theatre will set their next venture, Bernstein's CANDIDE, in the former Don Allen Auto City. The musical is directed by Karla Boos and will play November 5th through 22nd.

Roger Friedman in reporting at HollywoodReporter.com in his column that 'And Kerry Washington is headed to Broadway this fall in David Mamet's 'Race' with James Spader and Richard Thomas. I've heard that rounding out this cast will be Doogie Howser, hot-as-a-pistol Neil Patrick Harris. From the Tonys to the Emmys to Broadway. And Mamet. He would never have made this much money as a doctor!'
