Miami Dade College's (MDC) acclaimed Museum of Art and Design (MOAD) will present The Transformations Suite, a genre-defying musical tour de force by the rising young composer and pianist Samora Pinderhughes. The Transformations Suite, performed by Pinderhughes and a small jazz ensemble, combines words and music to paint a picture of America today tragic and indicting, but ultimately, hopeful. The Transformations Suite will have one performance at the Miami Light Project at The Light Box at Goldman Warehouse, Friday, Feb. 2, at 8 p.m.

In celebration of Black History Month, the fifth edition of the art exhibition, Out of Africa returns to Art Village Gallery and the South Main Arts District bringing contemporary art from Africa and its diaspora to the forefront.

Linda Shelton, Executive Director of The Joyce Theater Foundation, Inc., announced today that Aaron Mattocks will take over as Director of Programming, effective February 1, 2018. Mattocks replaces Martin Wechsler, who stepped down at the end of 2017 after 32 years at The Joyce, 22 of those as Director of Programming, helping to transform the organization into the world's leading presenter of dance.

This captivating gesture of social interaction and concern, and will take place at sites in the Calle Ocho District on Monday, Jan. 22, Downtown Miami on Tuesday, Jan. 23, and South Beach on Wednesday, Jan. 24. I Will Have a Conversation About Any Subject/Converso Sobre Cualquier Asunto is part of a weeklong program the artist has designated Triptych Miami. It will also feature a lecture-performance at the New World School for the Arts on Thursday, Jan. 25, a workshop with students, and a concluding nighttime performance with the workshop participants on the streets of Downtown Miami on Saturday, Jan. 27.

From 15th to 17th February, FORM Dance Projects and Riverside Theatres will present the Australian premiere of Valley, a powerful dance performance by Israeli choreographer Omer Backley-Astrachan.

Walton Arts Center will host the debut screening of The Triplets of Belleville as composer Benoit Charest leads Le Terrible Orchestre de Belleville in a live performance of his original film score on Thursday, Feb. 1 at 7 pm as part of the 10x10 Arts Series.

Lambertville, NJ based Roxey Ballet continues it's 23rd Anniversary Season with crowd-favorite performances through the spring of 2018. The Canadian Opera Company Orchestra Academy welcomes five student musicians to join its fifth annual training intensive, taking place January 7 26, 2018. Led by COC Music Director Johannes Debus, and in collaboration with The Glenn Gould School at the Royal Conservatory of Music, the Schulich School of Music at McGill University and the University of Toronto's Faculty of Music, the program offers its student musicians one-on-one mentorship and practical experience in their pursuit of a career in an opera orchestra.

Director of Nuffield Southampton Theatres, Samuel Hodges, today announces the full cast for the company's inaugural production at NST City the world premi re of Howard Brenton's The Shadow Factory, which Hodges directs. Veteran of stage and screen Anita Dobson joins the cast as Lady Cooper/Ma (Wicked, Apollo Victoria Theatre; The Merry Wives of Windsor, RSC; Frozen, National Theatre) along with Shala Nyx who plays Polly. Dobson, known for playing the iconic role of Angie Watts in EastEnders, and Nyx join David Birrell (Fred/Hugh), Catherine Cusack (Lil/Sylvia), Lorna Fitzgerald (Jackie Dimmock), Hilton McRae (Lord Beaverbrook) and Daniel York (Len Gooch) to complete the company. The Shadow Factory opens on 15 February, with previews from 7 February, and runs until 3 March.

On 9 January, the first day that same-sex couples can formally marry in Australia, Sydney Festival will host a giant wedding reception for Sydney to celebrate all the couples officiating their love and commitment through marriage. The reception offers the opportunity to bathe in a bright pink swimming pool, entry to dance up a storm in JOF's 10 Minute Dance Parties and the opportunity to play 'wedding singer', or belt out love songs, on the world's first Karaoke Carousel, all free of charge. The 'good time merchant', DJ Charlie Villas, will also play wedding classics all night long.
