THE TRIPLETS OF BELLEVILLE Cine-Concert Debuts at Walton Arts Center

Walton Arts Center will host the debut screening of The Triplets of Belleville as composer Benoit Charest leads Le Terrible Orchestre de Belleville in a live performance of his original film score on Thursday, Feb. 1 at 7 pm as part of the 10x10 Arts Series.

Tickets are just $10 plus applicable fees and can be purchased in-person at the Walton Arts Center Box Office, by calling 479.443.5600 or by visiting waltonartscenter.org.

The Triplets of Belleville Cine-Concert is a unique cinematic and musical experience involving an eight-piece orchestra playing, singing, dancing and performing live sound effects in sync with the 2003 Oscar®-nominated animated feature, The Triplets of Belleville. Ben Charest, the soundtrack composer, conducts as well as plays in the band to the delight of audiences everywhere.

In the spirit of the film, Le Terrible Orchestre de Belleville transports audiences to the exciting streets of 1920s Paris and Le Jazz Hot. Kidnapped by mysterious, square-shouldered henchmen, a Tour de France cyclist named Champion is spirited across the ocean to the teeming metropolis of Belleville. His near-sighted grandmother and faithful dog follow his trail and are taken in by a trio of eccentric jazz-era divas. The motley sleuths follow the clues to an underground speakeasy, where they entertain the crowd.

Before the show, patrons are invited to attend a Creative Conversation at 6 pm with the ensemble led by a member of Walton Arts Center's programming staff. Following the show, patrons are also invited to attend an after party with the artists in the Walker Atrium and share their thoughts about the show with the popular Post-It® Note responses.

Walton Arts Center's 10x10 Arts Series brings a variety of groundbreaking artists and awe-inspiring performances to Northwest Arkansas at a price that allows more people to experience live theater performances.
