Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts today announced its 53rd season of Great Performers, dedicated to presenting many of the world's most accomplished and inspirational artists in the concert halls and performance venues across the institution's storied campus. This coming season brings distinguished soloists, orchestras, chamber ensembles, and conductors from across the globe, showcasing them at the height of their artistry.

The Houston Symphony and Music Director Andr s Orozco-Estrada announced today details of the 2018-19 season, which marks Orozco-Estrada's fifth year as music director. Highlights of the season include conducting appearances by world-class violinists Joshua Bell and Itzhak Perlman; the world premiere of Aurora, a violin concerto by Houston Symphony Composer-in-Residence Jimmy L pez; and a semi-staged opera performance of Bart k's Bluebeard's Castle.

Two nights. All five Beethoven piano concertos. Pure bliss. Celebrated Israeli pianist Inon Barnatan and British conductor Courtney Lewis collaborate to bring a one-of-a-kind experience to Columbus.

Jeffrey Kahane will return to the New York Philharmonic to conduct Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 17, from the piano; conduct Tchaikovsky's Variations on a Rococo Theme, with cellist Alisa Weilerstein as soloist; and conduct Haydn's Symphony No. 98, from the fortepiano, Today, January 4, 2018, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, January 5 at 11:00 a.m.; Saturday, January 6 at 8:00 p.m.; and Tuesday, January 9 at 7:30 p.m.

Columbus Symphony Board Chair Lisa Barton announced that the contract of Music Director Rossen Milanov has been extended through the 2024-25 season. The new extension commits Milanov through the 2024-25 season, solidifies the relationship with the CSO, and enables him to invest a cumulative nine years into advancing the CSO's mission and vision in the central Ohio community and beyond.

92Y's 17-18 season opens on October 5 with internationally renowned cellist Mischa Maisky joining the “amazing precision” (Huffington Post) of the notably conductorless Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, which returns to 92Y for the first time in 15 years, to celebrate the cellist's 70th birthday season. Together, they open 92Y's illustrious concert season with Schubert's beloved “Arpeggione” Sonata, arranged for cello and string orchestra by Dobrinka Tabakova, as well as Arensky's Variations on a Theme by Tchaikovsky, and Tchaikovsky's Serenade for Strings.  Acclaimed for the sheer intensity and vigor of his performances, Maisky has the distinct honor of being the only cellist in the world to have studied under both Gregor Piatigorsky and Mlatislav Rostrapovich.  The Orpheus Chamber Orchestra is renowned as one of the foremost chamber orchestras in the world, with more than 70 albums in its sprawling discography since its founding in 1972.

Acclaimed American soprano Ren e Fleming performs in recital with pianist Inon Barnatan on Monday, October 23 at 8:00 p.m. in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage. The program includes works by Brahms, Egon Kornauth, Andr Previn, selections from Strauss's Ariadne auf Naxos, and the world premiere of a new work by Caroline Shaw, commissioned by Carnegie Hall as part of its 125 Commissions Project.

This season ushers in a host of premieres by Boosey & Hawkes composers, including John Adams's new opera Girls of the Golden West in San Francisco, Sebastian Currier's RE-FORMATION in Minneapolis, Christopher Rouse's Berceuse Infinie in Baltimore, and a new orchestral work by Sean Shepherd in Boston.

Bravo! Vail and the New York Philharmonic have announced a five-year extension of the Orchestra's annual summer residency through the summer of 2022. The Philharmonic has been performing at Bravo! Vail since 2003.

The New York Philharmonic will return to Bravo! Vail in Colorado, celebrating its 30th season, for the Orchestra's 15th annual summer residency, July 21-28, 2017. The residency will include six orchestral concerts that honor the Philharmonic's legacy on the occasion of its 175th anniversary season and the conclusion of Alan Gilbert's tenure as Music Director.

Nobody puts conductor Manfred Honeck in a corner--except, perhaps the maestro himself. For instance, the Music Director of the Pittsburgh Symphony and frequent guest conductor in the US and Europe makes no bones about viewing himself as the quintessential mittel-european maestro, devoted to Beethoven, Brahms, Mahler, Richard Strauss and others of that ilk. But he's also an advocate of the music of the 21st century and works by Shankar, Stucky, Danielpour, Adamsand other newer masters.
