Ballet Hisp nico will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with 'A la Calle' Block Party on Sunday, October 1 from 2-6 pm. This celebration of Latino dance, music, art, food and community will take place on West 89th Street, NYC, between Amsterdam and Columbus Avenues.

In what has become an 'enjoyable tradition during the holiday season' (The New York Times), Ballet Hispanico in collaboration with the Apollo Theater makes its annual return to the Apollo stage, led by Eduardo Vilaro in his seventh season as Artistic Director. The Chan Centre for the Performing Arts at the University of British Columbia (UBC) launches its 2016/17 season with Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue, September 25, 2016 at 7pm in the Chan Shun Concert Hall. New Orleans native "Trombone Shorty" - aka Troy Andrews - along with his five-member band, Orleans Avenue, will perform an electrifying fusion of jazz, funk, rock, and hip-hop reflecting the diversity and inclusivity of their hometown.

Three advanced Ballet Conservatory students from the Franklin School for the Performing Arts (FSPA) will participate in the Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) New England regional semi-finals, to be held at Veteran's Memorial Auditorium in Providence, Rhode Island on February 7- 9. Mikaela Guidice, 11, of Norfolk, Shaina McGillis, 15, of Franklin, and Noura Sander, 13, of Easton, will join the ranks of 5,000 other 9-19 year-old aspiring dancers worldwide to compete in America's oldest and the world's largest student ballet scholarship competition. This year's U.S. semi-finals will be held in 10 states, with international semi-finals in Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Japan and Mexico. The YAGP weekend also features workshops with master teachers and will take place at Festival Ballet Providence.
