Gerald McCullouch Stars In DADDY At Hudson Mainstage, Closes 2/13

When 'golden boy' Colin falls for a man half his age, the result is a climactic confrontation with best friend Stew that will forever change their lives. Gerald McCullouch (CSI, OUT magazine's 'Out 100') and Dan Via reprise the roles they created when Rick Sparks directs the West Coast premiere of Via's Off-Broadway hit play, DADDY. Also in the cast is Ian Verdun. The six-week run ends February 13 at the Hudson Mainstage in Hollywood.

Play Daddy @ Hudson Mainstage Intriguing

I was thoroughly unprepared for the impact Daddy had on me. From the title I had imagined a campy foray into the sleazy world of gay leather encompassing a slave/master experience. Comical use of Who's your daddy? came to mind. Well, how wrong could I be! Yes, indeed, the play is about gay relationships; there are even a couple of scenes in a gay bar, but Dan Via (who also plays Stew) has overall constructed a humorous, intelligent, insightful and riveting play that delves deeply into all types of relationships: friends, lovers and parents, that will appeal to everyone, gay or straight. Now onstage @ the Hudson Mainstage, Daddy, expertly helmed by Rick Sparks, will leave you ruminating.

Colin is a stud, Stew is not so much. Inseparable since college, they've managed to go 20+ years without really examining their relationship, but now Colin has fallen for a man half his age putting his relationship with his best friend to the test.

DADDY offers a provocative, humorous, and sometimes dark look at love, loyalty, and the consequences of living in a culture without marriage equality. 'Via has written a play that maps the human heart... McCullouch is a revelation!' - Show Business Weekly
