The Metropolitan Opera will open its 2022–23 season with the company premiere of Cherubini’s masterpiece Medea Tuesday, September 27, 2022. Following triumphant performances at the Met as some of the repertory’s most dramatic heroines, Sondra Radvanovsky sings Medea for the first time, taking on the tour-de-force role made famous by Maria Callas.

Michael R. Jackson's WHITE GIRL IN DANGER will begin previews on March 15, 2023 and will officially open on April 10, 2023 at Second Stage’s Off-Broadway home, the Tony Kiser Theater. The limited 8-week run will play through Sunday, May 21, 2023.

The Green Room 42 will present a special concert reading of the new musical, Fountain of You, on Monday, September 26 at 7:00 PM. Fountain of You features book and lyrics by Tasha Gordon-Solmon and music by Faye Chiao, and stars Jenni Barber, Jason Veasey and Maya Days.

Renée Fleming, Lyric’s own special projects advisor, is joined by charismatic baritone Rod Gilfry for an extraordinary musical event: the Midwest premiere of the song cycle The Brightness of Light, composed by Pulitzer Prize winner Kevin Puts, followed by a program featuring songs from the Great American Songbook as well as Broadway favorites.

On October 21, 2022, Houston Grand Opera (HGO) will open the 2022-23 season with Verdi's La traviata, one of the world's most beloved—and performed—operas. Opera Orlando has announced four singers joining the company’s Studio Artist program in the Company’s 2022-23 Opera Everlasting season. The artists are Sara Lucille Law, soprano; Raphaella Medina, mezzo soprano; Robert Hartfield, tenor; and Geoffrey Peterson, lyric baritone.

Registration is now open for Ballet Hispánico School of Dance's Fall adult classes in Salsa, Ballet Fitness, Hip Hop, and Flamenco. Classes are open to dancers of all levels and begin the week of October 3, 2022 at their studios in NYC.

The World Premiere of Michael Shapiro’s VOICES is set to take place at New York City's famed Central Synagogue, Thursday, November 10, 2022. This performance will feature Daniel Mutlu, the Senior Cantor of Central Synagogue, Ember Choral Arts, and the American Modern Ensemble, conducted by Deborah Simpkin King. 

Houston Grand Opera (HGO) will present Monkey and Francine in the City of Tigers, part of its Opera to Go! series specifically designed for students, at Miller Outdoor Theatre from Monday, October 10 through Thursday, October 13.

Historic six-time Tony Award Winner Audra McDonald returned to the Provincetown Town Hall series produced by Mark Cortale on August 28 with Seth Rudetsky as music director & host. At a press conference held at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts in the Richard Bradshaw Amphitheatre, the Toronto Alliance for the Performing Arts (TAPA) announced 235 nominations for the 42nd Annual Dora Mavor Moore Awards, which recognize excellence in professional theatre, dance and opera in Toronto.

OPERA America has selected three accomplished BIPOC professionals in opera as mentees in the 2022‒2023 Mentorship Program for Opera Leaders of Color. The Mentorship Program, now in its second year, advances racial equity in the field by pairing BIPOC administrators with established leaders in the field who can support them in achieving their career goals.

OPERA America, the national service organization for opera, has welcomed a new class of six board members that includes creators, administrators, artist managers, and opera company trustees. They join the Board of Directors under the ongoing leadership of Chair Carol F. Henry, esteemed philanthropist and founding trustee of Los Angeles Opera.
