Greater Cleveland is blessed with a vital theater scene. It has been the purpose of the TIMES THEATER TRIBUTES, now known as BROADWAY WORLD-CLEVELAND REGIONAL PROFESSIONAL THEATER TRIBUTES (BWW-Cle Theater Tributes), to recognize theatrical experiences that, in the subjective view of this reviewer, were excellent and deserve recognition.

Cleveland Public Theatre (CPT) has announced the world premiere of Light the Lights, Ol' Moses CLE (A Wild Holiday Romp), originated and directed by Raymond Bobgan and Beth Wood, and featuring off-beat original holiday entertainment created by Bobgan and Wood, along with co-creators Molly Andrews-Hinders, John Busser, Eric Coble, Holly Holsinger, Caitlin Lewins, Blanca Iris Garcia Salva and Renee Schilling.

When the mention of the name Frankenstein is made, the common visual reference is that of Boris Karloff, who was a large green monster with screws in his head, as featured in the 1931 horror film. Karloff, in fact, played Frankenstein's monster, not Henry Frankenstein, the young scientist who created the being from parts collected from various sources, including the brain of a criminal, which was brought to life through electrical devices.

In partnership with Great Lakes Theater Festival, the PlayhouseSquare Community Engagement & Education Department is hosting the Cleveland Branch Finals of the annual English-Speaking Union's (ESU) National Shakespeare Competition on Saturday, February 27. Students from 38 Northeast Ohio schools are participating. Cuyahoga County Public Library Executive Director Sari Feldman will deliver the event's keynote address at 9:00 a.m.
