Photo Flash: Sneak Peek - Cleveland Public Theatre to Revive FRANKENSTEIN'S WAKE This January

By:

Cleveland Public Theatre (CPT) is proud to announce the revival of FRANKENSTEIN'S WAKE, an original show by creative team Raymond Bobgan (CPT Executive Artistic Director) and Holly Holsinger (actor/director and 2016 Creative Workforce Fellow). The production previews January 7, 8, 9 and 14 before opening for a three-weekend run from January 15-30 in Cleveland Public Theatre's Church, a former Romanian Orthodox Church acquired by the theatre in 2009, located at 6201 Detroit Avenue, Cleveland, OH on the east end of Cleveland Public Theatre's campus. BroadwayWorld has a sneak peek at the show below!

This twisted adaptation of Mary Shelley's masterpiece revives a tour-de-force solo performance by Holly Holsinger, who brings to life the dizzying array of characters including the eponymous Doctor Victor Frankenstein and his infamous creation. First performed off-Broadway in 1997 by Cleveland's own Theatre Labyrinth, FRANKENSTEIN'S WAKE met critical acclaim and was described as "an exhilarating bravura performance," by Time Out New York. With this restaging of the work, Holsinger and Bobgan delve into themes of longing, the search for one's origin, conflict with the maker and a deepening perspective on what it means to be human. The intimate production features modern Gothic stylings and is accompanied by haunting live choral performance by a three-woman ensemble.

FRANKENSTEIN'S WAKE was co-created and designed by Holly Holsinger and Raymond Bobgan. The production stars Holly Holsinger, with choral accompaniment provided by Chloe Mlinarcik, Sarah Moore and Shannon Sharkey. The creative production team is Raymond Bobgan (Director), Holly Holsinger and Raymond Bobgan (Set and Costume Design), Caitlin Lewins (Music Director), Sarah Moore (Stage Manager) and Brad Krumholz (Specialty Table Design).

Tickets are $12 - $25. Tickets are available for purchase at www.cptonline.org or by phone at (216) 631-2727 x 501.
