This summer, Exquisite Corpse Company invites you to a wedding...or a funeral...in the surreal world of A Ribbon About a Bomb. Wander with Frida Kahlo, Remedios Varo, and Leonora Carrington through the abandoned halls of a mansion on Governors Island. The show centers on, as the artists often queried in life, the duality of humanity, womanhood, and art. The captivating, sometimes terrifying, work of these three women intertwine, as each attempts to shape their own reality in the face of systematic oppression and entrenched social hierarchies.

Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Reaches Musicians' Endowment Milestone

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra today announced that the organization has raised approximately $17 million of the $25 million goal for its Musicians' Endowment Campaign, meeting the Woodruff Arts Center matching gift goal in less than a year. The Musicians' Endowment Campaign is a key component of the $100 million Transformation Campaign launched by the Woodruff Arts Center in April.

Cleveland Orchestra Manager Jennifer Barlament Joins Atlanta Symphony as Executive Director

Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Board Chair D. Kirk Jamieson today announced that Jennifer Barlament has accepted the position of Executive Director of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. Barlament is currently the General Manager of The Cleveland Orchestra. She will begin in January 2016. She was selected after an international search overseen by a committee appointed by the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra's Board of Directors, led by Vice Chair Tom Wardell.

MainStreet Theatre Company, celebrating its 10th season, is delighted to announce the California premiere of Elephant & Piggie's "We are in a Play!" Art Manke is the Director/Choreographer, with Musical Direction by the show's composer, Deborah Wicks-La Puma. The production will play eight school performances from October 5th - 9th, and open to the public on Saturday, October 10th at 4pm. ASO Management & Musicians Unable to Reach Agreement; 2014-2015 Season Cancelled?

Despite months of Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) discussions, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Players Association and Orchestra management have not reached an agreement on a new contract. As a result, the contract with the musicians' union has expired, effective 12:00 midnight on Saturday, September 6, 2014. This development may delay or cancel portions of the scheduled 2014-15 season, which is set to open on Thursday, September 25, 2014.
