Folger Theatre opens the 2019/20 season with 1 Henry IV, Shakespeare's richly layered coming-of-age tale of power, rebellion, honor, and redemption. The production is directed by Rosa Joshi (co-founder of Seattle's upstart crow collective theater company in Seattle; Henry V and As You Like It at Oregon Shakespeare Festival), who makes her DC directorial debut at the Folger. 

With more than 1,000 artists and more than 500 free events in three new sunlit pavilions and more than 130,000 square feet of new landscaped green space at the nation's cultural capital, the REACH opens its doors in exactly one month's time with 16 full days of creativity in action, providing artists and audiences with the opportunity to experience art as never before. The Cape Playhouse at the Cape Cod Center for the Arts announces complete casting for their upcoming production of the murder mystery play Deathtrap.

The 10th Anniversary Production of ROCK OF AGES currently playing at New World Stages (340 W 50th St), will extend its limited engagement twelve additional weeks, now playing through January 12, 2020.

The Second City announces casting for The Second City's 108th Mainstage Revue. The brand new ensemble includes Mary Catherine Curran, Sarah Dell'Amico, Andrew Knox, Asia Martin, Jordan Savusa, and Adam Schreck. Resident Second City director Ryan Bernier returns to direct his seventh resident stage production, and Nick Gagewill be taking over the keys as the musical director.

Broadway star concert producers Club 11 London and Take Two Theatrical are excited to announce that Broadway star and the 2019 Tony Award winning, Stephanie J. Block will make a return London on Sunday 12th April 2020 for two solo concerts at Londons iconic Cadogan Hall in Sloane Square.

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater announces partial casting of August Wilson's Jitney. Tony Award-winner Ruben Santiago-Hudson directs his 2017 Broadway production a?' recipient of the Tony Award for Best Play Revival. Set in the early 1970s, Jitney follows a group of men trying to make a living by driving unlicensed cabs, or jitneys.

Peregrine Theatre Ensemble will host New York City's most popular musical duo Lauren Molina (Broadway's Rock of Ages, Sweeney Todd, Mary Zimmerman's Candide - Helen Hayes Award, Marry Me A Little) and Nick Cearley (Broadway First National All Shook Up, Pageant, and on the OUT 100 list as one of the 'most compelling actors of 2014') for two shows at 10pm August 16th and 17th at Fishermen Hall located at 12 Winslow Street Provincetown MA 02657.

Arts on the Horizon, a non-verbal theatre company for children ages zero to six, is excited to present its 7th season. As the first theatre company in the United States to stage performances specifically geared towards this age group, Arts on the Horizon shows are performed solely with sound, movement, and live music to engage children at any stage of language development and also children whose first language may not be English.

Olney Theatre Center launches the 2019-2020 season on the Mainstage with Kander and Ebb's CABARET directed by Alan Paul (August 28 - October 6, 2019). Broadway veteran Alexandra Silber, who played Guinevere in Paul's 2019 Helen Hayes Award-winning production of Camelot, and Tzeitel in the acclaimed Bart Sher revival of Fiddler on the Roof, will star as Sally Bowles, the flamboyant showgirl carried away by the glitz and debauchery of Weimar Berlin. The new musical HART ISLAND by Michelle Elliott and Danny Larsen (The Yellow Wood) and directed by Jerry Dixon, recently premiered at The Village Theater as a part of their New Works Program. Out of the Box Theatrics' Founding Artistic Director, Liz Flemming announced today that Tony Award-winner Alice Ripley will return to the role of Trisha Lee in their production of Elise Forier Edie's The Pink Unicorn in collaboration with Nancy Manocherian's the cell (338 W 23rd Street) Tuesday, August 13 through Sunday, August 25, 2019. Directed by Amy E. Jones, Ripley initially played a critically acclaimed limited engagement of the production, which was ultimately extended, in May 2019. Tickets currently on sale.
