Caitlin Kinnunen, Alysha Umphress, Alison Luff, and More to Sing the Songs of Josh Franklin
THE GREEN ROOM 42 will present the music of Josh Franklin on Sunday, August 18 at 9:30 PM. Currently appearing on Broadway in The Prom, the budding musical theater composer will showcase songs from three of his original shows: Jack: A Moral Musical Tale, Royal Blood, and The Consoling Mechanism. The evening will feature special musical guests Caitlin Kinnunen (The Prom), Christopher Sieber (The Prom), Alysha Umphress (On the Town), Alison Luff (Waitress),Nathan Lee Graham (Zoolander, "LA to Vegas"), Matthew Hydzik (The Cher Show), Jaron Barney (The Book of Mormon, National Tour), Nirvaan Pal (School of Rock), Brian Sears(The Book of Mormon), Mariah Lyttle, Nick Martinez, Kaylin Hedges, andBronwyn Tarboton. His other Broadway credits include Anything Goes, Grease, Ghost, and Legally Blonde.
Josh Franklin is an accomplished Broadway performer, singer/songwriter and composer/lyricist/book writer. Josh has written, recorded and co-produced two solo albums: his self-titled debut pop album in 2012 and Spent, released in 2016. He was the composer/lyricist for the musical Royal Blood, a hip-hop musical comedy about vampires and politics in 18th century France. He also was the sole creator of the original musical The Consoling Mechanism, a story about a girl struggling with her new reality of life in a wheelchair. As an actor, his Broadway credits include The Prom, Anything Goes, Ghost, Legally Blonde and Grease. He received wide recognition for his first national tour roles as Bob Gaudio (Jersey Boys), Danny Zuko (Grease), Chad (All Shook Up), and Billy Crocker (Anything Goes) which garnered him a Helen Hayes Award nomination for best actor in a leading role.
