BroadwayWorld is thrilled to announce that Next on Stage is BACK for season 3! Inspired by your favorite network TV singing contests, the site is inviting high school and college aged students to submit videos of themselves performing a song from the musical theatre canon to enter the competition.

It's crass and callous, heart-breaking and hilarious as it examines the nomansland where choice and identity collide.

We're looking into the history of each of these theatres, plus their namesakes Ethel Barrymore, Vivian Beaumont Allen, Lynn Fontanne, and Helen Hayes.

Solas Nua, the Washington D.C.-based contemporary Irish arts organization, has appointed Rex Daugherty as its full time Artistic Director of Theatre. This is a senior full-time position with responsibility for the leadership and management of the theatre program of Solas Nua. Mr. Daugherty, originally from Oklahoma City, has been an active member of Washington’s robust theatre scene for the past thirteen years. He became a company member with Solas Nua in 2008 during their sold-out, Off-Broadway run of Disco Pigs, and has been acting as theatre artistic director on a part-time basis since 2015.

Blumenthal Performing Arts and the Linda Beck Education Fund are partnering to provide one regional $2,000 scholarship and one regional $1,500 scholarship to students in the Charlotte area as part of the recently announced national Dear Evan Hansen 'You Will Be Found' College Essay Writing Challenge.

L. Scott Caldwell will lead Blumhouse and Amazon’s “Bingo,” the latest thriller as part of the “Welcome to the Blumhouse” series. Caldwell will star as Delores, the “witty, loyal and tough grandmother” at the center of “Bingo’s” story.

Jefferson Performing Arts Society will stage the New Orleans area debut of Ken Ludwig’s hit A Comedy of Tenors from April 9-18, 2021, at Jefferson Performing Arts Center in Metairie. A total of six performances will be offered at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 2:00 p.m. on Sundays.
