Boston Symphony Orchestra has announced new BSO NOW video streams for January, plus much more! Thursday, January 14, at noon: Stefan Asbury leads a Boston Symphony Orchestra program including Thomas Adès’ Dawn, Debussy’s Printemps, Vaughan Williams’ The Lark Ascending with violin soloist Elena Urioste, and more.

2019 Uruguayan Latin GRAMMY WINNER and STEINWAY ARTIST, pianist Gustavo Casenave, returns to Le Poisson Rouge with a solo daring proposal. Combining his passionate improvisations and mesmerizing technique, with his eclectic composition skills, he presents an 'all original' repertoire in the realms of Tango, Jazz and Contemporary Classical Music. Quoted by the New York Times as: '...exuberant, virtuosic performance...' and by the Los Angeles Times as: '...ferocious performance, emotionally wrenching...', this Grammy Award winner with five nominations and two Gold Medals at the 2019 Global Music Awards promises to deliver an unforgettable and unrepeatable evening of piano solo music.

On November 22, take a journey through South American jazz with multiple-Grammy Award nominee, pianist, and composer Gustavo Casenave, featuring his eclectic quartet in an adventurous and memorable evening of passionate music, virtuosity and talent, at Flushing Town Hall.

Young at Arts, Westchester's most impactful performing arts educational organization, will host its annual gala, Tango Corazon: A Night of Latin Rhythm and Soul, on May 9, 2019. The evening will feature performances by celebrated soprano Camille Zamora, Grammy winning Hector Del Curto Trio, dynamic tango duo Yaisuri and John Hernan and select Young at Arts students. Tango Corazon will serve as a benefit to actualize the greater mission of the program and continue to provide need-based scholarships to students throughout Westchester and The Bronx.

The Argentine Tango Society and Spruce Peak Arts are pleased to announce the 2019 Stowe Tango Music Festival on Saturday, August 17 for an unforgettable night of Tango with two concerts 4pm and 8pm! The 8pm concert concludes with an onstage Milonga (a tango dance party).  

The Pablo Ziegler Trio won the 2018 Grammy® Award for 'Best Latin Jazz Album' with their exciting release Jazz Tango (ZOHO). Ziegler, who honed his piano and composing skills working with legendary fellow Argentinian Astor Piazzolla, continues developing the style of Nuevo Tango. As a celebration of their Grammy-award-winning album, Ziegler's Jazz Tango Trio will be playing a shared program with the Chano Domínguez Trio at the Highline Ballroom, as part of the Blue Note Jazz Festival on June 26 in New York City.

The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) announced its 2018/19 season to a packed house in Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre earlier this evening. The Orchestra's fourth-annual, free Season Preview Concert once again featured the entire orchestra onstage performing selected excerpts, with emcees Music Director Ward Stare and Principal Pops Conductor Jeff Tyzik.

Also programmed are Elgar's overture In the South (Alassio) and Sibelius's Violin Concerto in D minor as performed by Karen Gomyo. Ms. Gomyo has been hailed as “a first-rate artist of real musical command, vitality, brilliance, and intensity,” by the Chicago Tribune.

In addition to two concerts held at the beautiful Koerner Hall, Soundstreams will present work at two additional Toronto venues: Trinity-St. Paul's Centre and the new Theatre Centre on Queen Street West.

The schedule for this summer's Lincoln Center Out of Doors festival, which runs from July 20 to August 10, was announced today by Bill Bragin, Lincoln Center's Director of Public Programming. Nearly 100 free performances will take place across the plazas of Lincoln Center during three weeks. A special Memorial Concert for Pete and Toshi Seeger on July 20 will be followed by the official opening concert on July 23 with Larry Harlow's Hommy: A Latin Opera, the landmark work's first performance in 40 years. Concert Artists Guild presents the wind quintet WindSync on its Concerts in New York series on Tuesday evening, November 19th at 7:30 p.m. at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, 881 7th Ave., New York, NY. WindSync's appearance is part of CAG's 2013 14 Concerts in New York series, which showcases the winners of the 2012 Victor Elmaleh Competition at Weill Hall throughout the season. WindSync's upcoming recital features works by Reicha, Maslanka, Ravel, Piazzolla and Bernstein, plus a guest appearance by bandoneonist Hector del Curto, who joins WindSync for a set of tangos by Augustin Bardi and Osvaldo Berlingieri.
