Wolf Trap Opera 2020 Artists Begin Summer Residency

On June 30 Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts welcomed the Wolf Trap Opera Summer 2020 residency program cohort consisting of 18 Filene Artists, 17 Studio Artists and five Fellows.

Betsy McBride, Simon Wexler, Paola Hartley, and Karen Scalzitti-Kennedy Announced as Faculty For The Shreveport Dance Academy's Summer Intensive

BETSY McBRIDE, SIMON WEXLER, PAOLA HARTLEY, and KAREN SCALZITTI-KENNEDY will be members of the guest faculty for the Shreveport Dance Academy's Summer Intensive in Shreveport, Louisiana. Ms. McBride and Mr. Wexler will be teaching from July 27-31, 2020, and Ms.  Hartley and Ms. Scalzitti-Kennedy will be teaching from August 3-7, 2020.

Edinburgh International Culture Summit Will Hold a Special Edition in 2020, The Transformational Power Of Culture

Ordinarily the Edinburgh International Culture Summit, delivered in partnership by the British Council, Scottish Government, UK Government, the Scottish Parliament and the Edinburgh International Festival, would welcome people from around the world to the Scottish Parliament in August, alongside the backdrop of the Edinburgh Festivals. This year it is not possible to present the Summit in that format.

Musical Fireworks Celebrate Bastille Day As Ars Lyrica Opens New Season

Ars Lyrica Houston, the Grammy-nominated early music ensemble, opens its 16th season with a Bastille Day program in partnership with Rienzi, the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston house museum for European decorative arts. Rienzi is the host for Ars Lyrica's new chamber music series allowing audiences to fully experience an authentic historical performance. In a reimagined virtual celebration, both organizations are offering access to educational content, tours in English and French, and other activities that culminate in the broadcast of Vive la France!, a concert of music by French composers on historical instruments.
