Tonight's the night! Each year The Theatre World Awards presents 12 awards to outstanding debut performances on and off-Broadway. After a year of no debuts, The Theatre World Awards, the oldest American award for debuts in theatre in New York, will return for a one-night virtual benefit gala honoring Broadway legends André De Shields and Patti LuPone with the 8th Annual John Willis Award for Lifetime Achievement in The Theatre as well as presenting Audra McDonald with the Dorothy Loudon Special Award for Excellence in Theatre.

THE FIRST LADY is a revelatory reframing of American leadership, told through the lens of the women at the heart of the White House. 

Aubrey Lynch has been appointed Dean of Faculty and Student Affairs for the American Ballet Theatre Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School. Rubén Martín has been appointed Principal Teacher for the School and Caridad Martinez has been appointed as faculty member.

Susan R. Williamson, Director of the Palm Beach Poetry Festival (PBPF), today announced that the 18th annual festival will be all-virtual for six days of literary workshops, readings, craft talks, one-on-one conferences, poet panel, and more, January 10-15, 2022.

While it seems impossible to bring the theatrics of musical theatre to TV screens on a weekly basis, when you get down to it, television provides an insanely wide array of opportunities. However, just like movie musicals, its history is filled with ups and downs, and even nowadays networks struggle to find that balance.

To celebrate the release the band, Jessica Davies & Katherine Blamire, have created a special film of them performing the album in its entirety to be streamed worldwide on Sunday, July 18th.

Kicking off this mini-season is an epic all-day, all-star performance, in which Artistic Director Tom Littler dramatises Emily Wilson's translation of The Odyssey as a staged reading in six parts by a company of eleven actors and six guest-star narrators.

Joshua Turchin will host and accompany a special virtual concert of The Early Night Show with Joshua Turchin this Friday, July 2 at 8pm (viewable through www.theearlynightshow.com) to support victims and families impacted by the Surfside Building Collapse.

The new record, chopped down to 12 tracks after challenging herself to write 20 songs in 30  days, is therefore a turning point, one that leaves her more vulnerable than ever before.

Classical Theatre Company has announced the lineup for its  2021-2022 Mainstage Season. As the only professional theatre company in the State of Texas that solely produces classical drama on a year-round basis, CTC only produces plays that are 100 or more years old. 

As Black Theatre United (BTU) marks its first year since the organization’s creation, the Founding Members have just announced they held a three-month Commercial Theatre Summit from March to June 2021 to establish industry- wide standards around Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Accessibility & Belonging (EDIAB) with a focus on Black individuals in theatre as we move into the future.

The full line-up of arts and cultural events has been revealed for Hope Mill Theatre’s three-week festival, HOPE FEST, which runs in Ancoats, Manchester from 16th July – 8th August. The festival will take place inside a large theatre tent which will accommodate 250 capacity, based beside New Islington Tram Station.
